Senior Test Analyst

- Fixed term opportunity until June 2027, Melbourne location preferred, $135k base salary plus superannuation

About the role

As a Senior Test Analyst, you will plan and undertake testing across complex technology environments, working closely with Business Analysts, application specialists, technical teams and business stakeholders.

You will develop and execute comprehensive test plans, scenarios and cases across functional, system, integration, regression and end-to-end testing. You will apply a risk-based approach to determine testing priorities, manage defects and maintain clear coverage and traceability from requirements through to delivery.

You will also help strengthen testing practices by applying automation, good understanding Agentic AI capabilities where appropriate. Importantly, you will maintain human oversight of AI-generated testing artefacts and consider output accuracy, reliability, security, privacy and responsible AI principles.

Key responsibilities:

- Partnering with stakeholders to review requirements, define acceptance criteria and establish appropriate test coverage

- Developing, reviewing, maintaining and executing test plans, scenarios, cases and test data

- Performing functional, integration, system, regression and end-to-end testing

- Applying risk-based testing methods to determine test scope and priorities

- Identifying, managing and supporting the resolution of defects and testing issues

- Preparing test progress reports and escalating risks when required

- Supporting business users during user acceptance and validation testing

- Applying automation (preferably Playwright) and AI capabilities to improve test design, execution, analysis and reporting

- Reviewing AI-generated code and testing outputs to confirm their accuracy, quality and suitability

- Collaborating with external vendors and distributed teams across different time zones

- Mentoring junior testers and contributing to the continuous improvement of testing practices

- Maintaining testing documentation, technical references and testing framework content

- Solid software testing experience across complex technology environments

- Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, testing and quality assurance practices.

- Demonstrated experience developing and executing test strategies, test plans, scenarios, test cases and test data.

- Strong experience across functional, system, integration, regression and end-to-end testing

- Experience working within Agile, Waterfall or blended delivery environments

- The ability to analyse requirements, identify testing risks and maintain test coverage and traceability

- Exposure to testing cloud-hosted applications using AWS services.

- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps principles

- An understanding of Generative AI and Agentic AI concepts and their appropriate application within testing

- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management and written and verbal communication skills

- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
