A Snapshot of Your Day
As Digital Procurement Transformation Lead, you will shape and deliver the digital and AI agenda for procurement across Grid Technologies – from our factories with repeat demand to our engineer-to-order project business in HVDC, STATCOM and grid solutions. This is a digital transformation role, not a buying role: you bring the expertise in process redesign, digital products, data, automation and AI, while our procurement process owners and category and project experts bring the business know-how, validate solutions and own the outcomes. Together, you will move procurement, engineering, projects, quality, logistics, finance, IT and suppliers onto one transparent, standard and audit-ready way of working – using the global Siemens Energy Procurement tools first and building locally only where there is a genuine gap. Your success will be measured by real adoption and value confirmed by Controlling, not by the number of tools launched.
How You'll Make an Impact
· Digital strategy and portfolio: Own the procurement digital roadmap for Grid Technologies – identify and prioritize pain points, automation opportunities and AI use cases by business value, feasibility and strategic fit, aligned with the global SE Procurement transformation agenda.
· Business translation: Map end-to-end procurement processes – from bid and tender through delivery – and translate business needs into user stories, functional specifications and data requirements.
· Product ownership and delivery: Act as digital product owner for SE Procurement tools (S/4, Ariba Guided Buying, One Supplier Portal, ORO, PIP, AI Forge), steering backlog, testing and releases with IT and the global CoE; close local gaps with low-code / no-code, Power Platform and analytics through prototypes, MVPs and scalable releases.
· Applied AI and automation: Design, test and scale controlled AI use cases – RFQ package preparation, offer comparison, clarification lists, contract obligation extraction and a procurement knowledge assistant – with grounding, verification, logging and human-in-the-loop controls.
· Data and insight: Establish trusted supplier, material, price, contract and project data, and deliver should-cost and commodity-index analytics, spend classification, a supplier risk cockpit and management dashboards for fact-based decisions.
· Governance and compliance: Digitize RFQ, comparative statement, QES and DOA approvals with a full audit trail, ensuring compliance with AI governance, information security, data privacy, export control and enterprise architecture standards.
· Change, adoption and value: Lead change management and capability building through a network of digital champions, role-based training and data and AI literacy, and track adoption, quality and business value KPIs against agreed baselines.
What You Bring
· University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Informatics or Data / AI; a postgraduate qualification or MBA is an advantage.
· 10+ years of experience in digital transformation, business process transformation, digital product management or enterprise systems, including at least two end-to-end programmes taken from diagnosis to go-live and sustained user adoption with measurable business value.
· Strong digital and AI expertise, including applied Generative AI (prompt engineering, RAG concepts and responsible AI), AI agent workflows with human-in-the-loop verification, automation and process mining, low-code / no-code development, and data analytics and visualization (e.g. Power BI).
· Hands-on experience with SAP S/4 and Ariba or comparable ERP and sourcing platforms, and good awareness of integration and enterprise architecture concepts such as APIs, connectors and cloud platforms.
· Working understanding of the procurement value chain – strategic sourcing, project procurement, P2P and supplier management. Experience in procurement or supply chain digitalization is strongly preferred; deep category, negotiation or contract expertise is not required.
· Proven product ownership and agile delivery, working with IT partners, global centers of excellence and citizen developers.
· Strong stakeholder and change leadership – influencing without authority across global, cross-functional teams, engaging senior management, delivering training and setting up sustainable support models.
· Experience in power transmission, EPC, heavy engineering or complex manufacturing is a plus.
