About this role

Ready to shape how Technology costs are planned and recharged?

Why HSBC

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

The Opportunity

This role sits at the centre of how HSBC plans, forecasts and recharges Technology and Infrastructure costs to internal customers. You’ll support and administer Time Capture and GPDM (Group Planning Data Model) planning and forecasting applications ensuring data integrity, user support and clear process governance. Working closely with Finance, Technology, Commercial Operations, Controllers and business stakeholders you’ll help keep planning, forecasting, recharge and billing activities aligned. Success means accurate allocation methodologies, clear month-end reporting and timely investigation of variances so recoveries and billing outcomes improve. You’ll also strengthen financial controls and documentation to meet governance, regulatory and audit expectations. Alongside the day-to-day cadence you’ll help progress automation, system enhancements and new allocation and billing capabilities across HIBS, GPDM and related platforms.

What you'll be doing

- Support and administer Time Capture and GPDM forecasting and planning applications ensuring data integrity and user support

- Oversee process governance across planning, forecasting, recharge and billing activities to keep them aligned

- Produce monthly reporting, management information and variance analysis on charges, recoveries, allocations and financial performance

- Investigate over- and under-recoveries including root-cause analysis and remediation actions to improve billing accuracy

- Manage allocation drivers, reference data, FTE billing inputs, cost models and recharge methodologies in line with governance requirements

- Partner with Finance, Technology, Commercial Operations, Controllers and business stakeholders to resolve billing exceptions and disputes

- Maintain financial controls, reconciliations, audit trails and supporting documentation to meet audit and regulatory expectations

- Deliver process improvements, automation initiatives, testing and system enhancements across HIBS, GPDM and related platforms

What we're looking for

- Bring qualified accountant, part-qualified accountant or equivalent relevant finance experience

- Demonstrate experience in financial analysis, management reporting, cost allocation, recharges or chargebacks in a complex organisation

- Apply a strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, accounting concepts and audit requirements

- Work confidently with cost and volume data across multiple countries, currencies, legal entities or internal customers

- Perform variance investigation and root-cause analysis and escalate material issues appropriately

- Use Excel effectively and work confidently with large data sets

- Prepare clear, accurate financial reporting for finance and non-finance stakeholders

- Partner effectively across Technology and Finance to resolve allocation queries and maintain delivery cadence

Strengthening cost transparency

If you want to help improve how Technology and Infrastructure costs are planned, governed and recovered this role offers real scope to make a difference. You’ll work on processes and platforms that underpin recharge outcomes for internal customers and support better financial decision-making. The focus is on accuracy, control and continuous improvement across recurring cycles and change initiatives. If that matches the work you want to do we’d welcome your application.

You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC.
