About this role

100% REMOTE, $180/Hr. Job Title: Analog Circuit Design Engineer Linear Regulator Specialist (Space and Nuclear Applications) Job Description This role focuses on the analysis, redesign, and optimization of highly complex analog linear regulator circuits used in mission-critical space and nuclear hardware, where reliability, performance, and radiation tolerance are essential. The engineer will serve as a subject matter expert for precision linear regulator design using radiation-hardened, MIL SPEC discrete components, rapidly integrating into an established engineering team to evaluate legacy designs and deliver robust, practical improvements. Responsibilities

- Lead the analysis, redesign, and optimization of complex linear regulator circuits for mission-critical space and nuclear applications.
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for analog circuit design, with emphasis on discrete component linear regulators, precision voltage regulation, stability, transient response, and protection circuitry.
- Perform detailed circuit analysis and design evaluations using radiation-hardened, MIL SPEC discrete semiconductors and other high-reliability electronic components.
- Evaluate existing circuit designs, identify technical limitations and performance risks, and develop robust redesign solutions that meet stringent electrical, environmental, reliability, and radiation requirements.
- Support worst-case circuit analysis, tolerance analysis, stability analysis, and other detailed electrical performance assessments as needed.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve complex technical challenges and ensure design solutions meet program and mission requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and design recommendations for complex analog circuitry operating in demanding radiation, temperature, and reliability environments.
- Rapidly assess existing designs, establish technical priorities, and begin producing meaningful engineering results with minimal onboarding.
- Document design rationale, explain engineering tradeoffs, and communicate recommendations clearly to technical teams and engineering leadership.
- Support verification activities related to radiation effects, electrical stress, and worst-case performance for high-reliability analog electronics.

Essential Skills

- Extensive professional experience in analog circuit design, with demonstrated expertise in complex linear regulator design.
- Proven experience designing or redesigning high-reliability analog circuits using discrete semiconductor components.
- Direct experience with radiation-hardened components and MIL SPEC parts for space, nuclear, aerospace, or similarly demanding applications.
- Strong understanding of linear regulator architectures, including feedback and control loops, loop stability, compensation, transient response, precision references, and protection circuits.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex legacy circuit designs, identify root causes of technical issues, and develop practical, defensible redesign solutions.
- Ability to work independently, make sound engineering decisions, and contribute immediately to complex technical efforts.
- Strong technical communication skills, including the ability to document design rationale, explain tradeoffs, and present recommendations to engineering leadership and technical teams.
- At least 9 years of hands-on experience in worst-case circuit analysis, radiation testing, and electrical parts stress analysis.
- Experience with spaceflight hardware and other mission-critical electronic systems.
- Active Secret security clearance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience with radiation effects and component selection for radiation-hardened electronics, including total ionizing dose and single-event effects considerations.
- Experience supporting spaceflight, strategic defense, nuclear-hardened, or other mission-critical electronic hardware programs.
- Experience performing detailed worst-case circuit analysis, tolerance analysis, and design verification for high-reliability analog electronics.
- Familiarity with applicable military and aerospace component specifications, qualification requirements, and environmental design constraints.
- Experience in radiation testing and electrical stress analysis for high-reliability systems.
- Ability to integrate quickly into established engineering teams and provide immediate technical contributions.

Work Environment This position supports strategic, high-reliability hardware programs and operates in a technically rigorous, mission-focused engineering environment. The role follows a standard 5/40 first-shift schedule and is classified as exempt. The position is designated as full-time telework, allowing the engineer to perform detailed analysis, design, and documentation remotely while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams through digital tools and secure communication channels. An active Secret security clearance is required for access to program information and participation in project activities. The role does not currently offer conversion to full-time direct hire, but it provides the opportunity to work on cutting-edge spaceflight and nuclear-hardened electronics, using advanced analysis methods and high-reliability, radiation-hardened components within a culture that values technical excellence, thorough documentation, and robust engineering solutions.
