ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a senior, hands-on Senior Associate to join our Data Products team. You will own the Private Equity data products in Snowflake, from the platform foundations to business-critical data processes. You will be a technical expert on a small product team, and you will report to the Director of Data Products.

The ideal candidate is an experienced technologist with strong platform instincts. You know Snowflake deeply. You think in systems and abstractions, not one-off pipelines. You work AI-first: you write clear specifications, use AI coding agents to build, and validate that the result meets the specification. You treat infrastructure, permissions, and governance as code.

You will partner directly with leaders in Private Equity Finance, Investment Operations, and Data Governance. The foundations you build, including data certification, lineage, data quality, and platform automation, will become the pattern for other data domains across the firm.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

- Own ingestion and data modeling for Private Equity source systems, including fund accounting, valuation, portfolio monitoring, and HR and time data.
- Deliver changes from specification to production quickly, using AI coding agents, and review and validate their output.
- Build data certification, owner sign-off, definitions, lineage, and data quality checks into the codebase, in partnership with the VP of Data Governance.
- Own pipeline reliability, especially during quarterly close. Set up monitoring and alerting, and follow every incident through to a lasting fix.
- Configure Snowflake for the domain, including role-based access design, warehouse and cost management, data sharing, and multi-account setup.
- Manage infrastructure, permissions, and governance metadata as code, using Terraform, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, and controlled promotion between environments.
- Translate complex business processes into clear data models and system designs, and shape the capability roadmap with the product manager.
- Set technical standards, review designs and code, and mentor contractor and offshore engineers. Work closely with Data Engineering, Information Security, and Cloud Operations.

TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE

- Deep Snowflake experience: role-based access control, cost management, data sharing, and multi-account architecture. SnowPro Core or Advanced certification is a plus.
- AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor) as your primary way of working, including MCP and reusable skills.
- Strong SQL and data modeling, including dimensional modeling and a clear separation between source-conformed and business-conformed layers.
- Production-grade Python.
- Infrastructure and data as code: Terraform (including the Snowflake provider), GitHub Actions, and CI/CD for data. Experience with governance-as-code, policy-as-code, or data contracts is a plus.
- Orchestration with Airflow.
- Working knowledge of dbt.
- Data governance practices: data ownership, certification, lineage, and data quality. Experience with data catalog or data observability tools is a plus.
- AWS services such as S3, serverless products, and ECR, and monitoring tools such as Datadog or CloudWatch.
- Experience with private markets or fund accounting data (e.g., Investran) is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS

- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of professional data platform, data engineering, or software engineering experience.
- Strong foundation in software design and architectural patterns.
- Ability to explain technical choices clearly to finance and operations stakeholders.
- Proven ability to turn business requirements into clear specifications and scalable designs.
- Ownership mindset, from concept to production and ongoing operation.
- Experience mentoring others and raising a team's technical standards.

Why Join Us

At Bain Capital, you will join a small, AI-native team that partners directly with Private Equity leadership. You will build data foundations that the whole firm will reuse, in a collaborative environment that values innovation and excellence.
