About this role
## Discover your exciting role
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for mechanical design development, coordination, and technical delivery for hyperscale data center projects under a Design & Build (D&B) model. The role focuses on the design, integration, and implementation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, cooling infrastructure, ventilation, and other mission-critical building services, to meet client requirements for reliability, energy efficiency, maintainability, and operational performance.
Working closely with multidisciplinary design teams, clients, vendors, and construction teams, the Mechanical Engineer will support the project lifecycle from concept design and engineering calculations through detailed design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
## Explore your tasks and responsibilities
- Mechanical Design and Engineering Develop and review mechanical designs, calculations, specifications, and drawings for hyperscale data center projects, covering HVAC, cooling systems, ventilation, and associated mechanical services.
- Support the selection and sizing of mechanical equipment based on project requirements, cooling loads, redundancy, energy efficiency, and reliability criteria.
- Multidisciplinary Design Coordination Coordinate mechanical design interfaces with electrical, architectural, structural, civil, fire protection, and other specialist disciplines.
- Review BIM models, identify design clashes, and resolve technical issues to ensure design integration and constructability.
- Design & Build Project Delivery Collaborate with project management, procurement, vendors, and construction teams to align engineering deliverables with project schedules, budgets, and technical requirements.
- Support value engineering, equipment selection, technical bid evaluations, and design optimization while maintaining system performance and reliability.
- Technical Compliance and Quality Assurance Ensure mechanical designs comply with applicable Malaysian regulations, relevant industry standards, client specifications, and project-specific requirements.
- Review technical submissions, equipment data sheets, material specifications, shop drawings, and method statements to ensure design quality and compliance.
- Construction Support, Testing and Commissioning Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections, design clarifications, and resolution of installation-related issues.
- Support testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and final handover to verify that mechanical systems perform in accordance with design intent and project requirements.
