Responsibilities
As a member of the Facultative team, you will be responsible for underwriting, marketing, analysis and technical process es including:
- Assess, price and underwrite facultative Property and Engineering risks in line with Hannover Re’s underwriting guidelines, risk appetite and strategic objectives.
- Support the profitable growth and effective management of the Facultative portfolio in Shanghai.
- Deliver technical underwriting expertise, risk assessment insights and value-added services to internal and external clients.
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with cedants, brokers and internal stakeholders to promote sustainable business growth.
- Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Successfully completed University study with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Petrochemical, Power Generation, Risk Management or Safety Engineering or comparable academic background
- 5-10 years’ relevant working experiences in PD/EN underwriting, risk management or claims handling
- Solution-based work approach and a collaborative and team-minded work attitude
- Native in Chinese and have good verbal and written communication skills in English language
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
- Strong computer skills and ideally familiar with use of quotation tools
- Willingness to travel
