The opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced cost manager to join our growing life sciences and pharmaceuticals team in Switzerland, supporting some of the world's leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, research and advanced manufacturing organisations.
This role offers the opportunity to work on complex capital projects and programmes across Europe and globally, including research laboratories, manufacturing facilities, innovation centres and highly serviced technical environments.
The successful candidate will have cost management experience within the life sciences sector and exposure to laboratory facilities incorporating containment levels 1-4 (CL1- CL4). Experience across all containment levels is not required; however, candidates should have an understanding of the commercial, technical and delivery considerations associated with specialist laboratory and regulated facilities.
Working as part of integrated project teams, you will support the development and delivery of cost plans, procurement strategies, commercial management processes and project controls, helping clients achieve successful project outcomes throughout the asset lifecycle.
You’ll need to have:
- Experience in a cost manager or quantity surveying role within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare or advanced manufacturing sectors.
- Experience supporting projects involving CL1- CL4 laboratory environments, with exposure to one or more containment levels.
- Strong cost planning, estimating, procurement and commercial management skills.
- Experience working on technically complex or highly serviced building projects.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Degree qualified in quantity surveying, cost management or a related discipline.
- Working towards or holding professional accreditation (MRICS or equivalent).
- Understanding of GMP, regulated environments and life sciences project delivery.
- Knowledge of value engineering, lifecycle costing and construction contract frameworks.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Awareness of sustainability and whole-life value considerations in project delivery.
