At Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE), Virtual Manufacturing is a key enabler of future industrial competitiveness. Through simulation, AI and emerging digital technologies, we can verify products and production solutions virtually, identify risks earlier and make better decisions before investing in physical solutions.

We are looking for a Head of Virtual Manufacturing to lead and develop this capability globally.

This is both a leadership and transformation role. While leading a small team of specialists, your primary impact will come through inspiring, connecting and enabling a global network of experts and stakeholders. Success in this role depends on your ability to build engagement, foster collaboration and drive change through others.

You will shape the strategic direction for Virtual Manufacturing and help make it an integrated part of how we industrialize and manufacture products across Volvo CE.

Your mission

You will lead the global strategy and development of Virtual Manufacturing within Global Manufacturing Engineering.

By connecting business needs, industrial processes and digital capabilities, you will enable virtual verification of products, processes, equipment and factories before physical implementation. Through this, you will help improve quality, reduce risks, shorten lead times and support safer, smarter and more sustainable manufacturing.

Success in this global, network-based organization relies on collaboration, influence and the ability to bring people together around a common vision and create tangible results.

Your responsibilities

- Lead, coach and develop a small team of Virtual Manufacturing specialists while fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.

- Define the global strategy, roadmap and priorities for Virtual Manufacturing and drive adoption across the organization.

- Identify and prioritize opportunities where Virtual Manufacturing can create business value at scale.

- Drive the application of simulation and virtual solutions across product verification, automation, ergonomics and production flows.

- Establish scalable ways of working, enabling both standardization and innovation.

- Translate business needs into requirements for digital capabilities, information models and future solutions.

- Partner closely with Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Technology and Digital teams to ensure strong integration across the value chain.

- Build capabilities, strengthen competence development and promote knowledge sharing across the global Virtual Manufacturing community.

- Industrialization risks, lead times and investment uncertainty are reduced.

- Virtual Manufacturing becomes a trusted and integrated part of the industrialization process.

Who are you?

You are a strategic and collaborative leader who is energized by developing people, building networks and driving transformation in complex environments.

We believe you have:

- Leadership experience within Manufacturing Engineering, industrialization, digital manufacturing or a related field.

- Experience developing people, competencies and high-performing teams or networks.

- A proven ability to lead and influence across functions, organizations and geographies, both with and without formal authority.

- Strong strategic and systems thinking combined with a pragmatic approach to execution.

- Experience defining strategies, roadmaps and portfolios that create measurable business value.

- A solid understanding of Virtual Manufacturing, simulation and model-based manufacturing.

- Strong knowledge of industrial processes, digital technologies and the opportunities created by AI.

- Curiosity, learning agility and an interest in exploring future ways of working and manufacturing.
