Job Description The Manufacturing Engineer supports production operations by designing tools and fixtures, optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring a smooth and efficient production flow. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on problem-solving, 3D CAD design, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives directly on the shop floor in a fast-paced, growing manufacturing environment. Responsibilities
- Design and optimize production flow, tools, jigs, and fixtures using 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including detailed drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and assembly instructions.
- Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and manufacturing teams to prototype, test, and implement tooling and process solutions.
- Identify, lead, and execute process improvement projects to increase throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Provide ongoing technical support to production teams by troubleshooting manufacturing issues and resolving problems as they arise.
- Participate in root cause analysis activities and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by developing tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes for new parts and assemblies.
- Assist in maintaining and improving process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and clarity.
- Work hands-on with CNC machines, metal fabrication processes, and other production equipment to validate and refine manufacturing solutions.
- Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure alignment between engineering and shop floor operations.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of experience working as a manufacturing engineer in sheet metal fabrication or sheet metal design.
