Land Surveyor

Responsibilities

- Perform and oversee field survey operations, including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, title, and as-built surveys.
- Conduct construction stakeout and layout for a variety of land development and infrastructure projects.
- Collect, process, and verify field data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare surface models and support the development of survey deliverables.
- Review survey work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of current surveying standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications

- 6+ years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief or Party Chief.
- Strong background in boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction surveys.
- Experience performing construction stakeout and field layout activities.
- Proficiency with LEICA survey equipment.
- Familiarity with land development projects, including site plans, subdivisions, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway design.
- Working knowledge of New Jersey state, county, and local regulations.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage field operations with minimal supervision.

Field Operations

- Primarily works independently in the field on single-person crews.
- May occasionally work as part of a two-person crew based on project needs.
- Responsible for managing field activities and ensuring accurate data collection.

Travel & Vehicle Information

- Reports to the Somerville office each morning.
- Uses a company vehicle to travel between project sites throughout the workday.
- Returns the vehicle to the office at the end of each shift.
- No take-home company vehicle available.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. med
