Toadfish is a Charleston-born coastal lifestyle brand with a mission to protect and restore the coastal ecosystems we love. What started with a single oyster knife has grown into a nationally recognized brand offering innovative coastal kitchenware, fishing gear, drinkware, and outdoor lifestyle products.

Through our "Put 'Em Back" initiative, we've helped restore over 300,000 square feet of oyster habitat, and we're just getting started.

We're excited to open our newest retail location in the heart of the Historic Charleston City Market, and we're looking for an exceptional Store Manager to help bring the Toadfish experience to life.

About the Role

We're looking for an energetic, motivated, and hands-on Store Manager who loves people, enjoys selling, and takes pride in running a great business.

This isn't a job where you'll spend your day sitting in an office. You'll be on the sales floor, connecting with customers from around the world, leading your team, and making sure every visitor has an outstanding experience.

You'll play a key role in building our new retail operation from the ground up, working directly with ownership to help shape the store's success.

What You'll Do

- Drive Sales: Lead by example on the sales floor, engage customers, and consistently work toward store sales goals.

- Lead Your Team: Recruit, train, schedule, and motivate a small team of retail associates.

- Manage Daily Operations: Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, store cleanliness, and day-to-day operations.

- Manage Inventory: Monitor stock levels, receive shipments, maintain accurate inventory records, and keep the sales floor fully stocked.

- Create an Amazing Customer Experience: Share the Toadfish story, educate customers about our products and conservation mission, and deliver exceptional service.

- Merchandise the Store: Maintain attractive product displays, execute seasonal merchandising updates, and identify opportunities to improve the shopping experience.

- Take Ownership: Identify problems, recommend solutions, and continuously look for ways to grow sales and improve operations.

Who We're Looking For

- Previous retail management or leadership experience.

- A natural salesperson who enjoys interacting with customers.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Experience with retail point-of-sale systems; Shopify POS experience is a plus.

- Ability to manage employees, schedules, and inventory.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-traffic retail environment.

- Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently.

- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and peak tourism periods.
