Charleston Dog Walker is hiring reliable, caring people for weekday midday dog walks and pet care visits. If you have room in your weekdays and would love to spend more time with animals, this is a chance to make that a regular part of your life—and earn extra income along the way.
You’ll get to know the pets you care for: their favorite routes, their routines, and the little things that help them feel comfortable. Their people get peace of mind. You get work you can feel good about.
We handle the clients, scheduling, and payments. You’ll join our team as a W-2 employee , with paid training and ongoing support.

A Few Hours With a Different Pace
Our greatest need is Monday through Friday, approximately 11 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
You don’t need to be available every weekday. We’re looking for consistent blocks of midday availability that we can schedule within.
That leaves room for the other parts of your day while giving you a regular reason to step outside and spend time with pets. Once a visit is scheduled, we count on you to be there—their routines depend on it.
Additional morning, evening, weekend, and holiday visits may be available if you’d like more hours.

What You'll Actually Be Doing
You’ll drive between clients’ homes, spending time with their pets and following each household’s care instructions. During visits, you’ll:
- Walk dogs and provide potty breaks, exercise, and playtime.
- Give meals, fresh water, medications, and other care as instructed.
- Care for cats, including litter cleanup.
- Send clients a visit journal and photos.
- Notice changes in a pet’s behavior or needs and communicate with our management team.
- Make sure pets are comfortable and homes are secure before leaving.
You’ll work independently, with a team available when you need help. Visits take place throughout Downtown Charleston, James Island, Johns Island, Avondale, and Folly Beach.

Enjoy the Pets. Take Pride in the Care.
You don’t need professional pet care experience. You do need to be dependable, attentive, and comfortable following detailed instructions.
This work is rewarding for someone who enjoys both the companionship and the responsibility of caring for animals. Fresh water, a carefully fitted harness, a clean litter box, and an update that puts a client at ease all matter.
You should be comfortable with dogs of different sizes and personalities, caring for cats, and being active outside in Charleston weather. You’ll also need to manage your time, communicate clearly, and use your phone for schedules, directions, photos, and updates.
We’re looking for someone who wants to become a familiar, trusted part of these pets’ lives for at least six months, ideally much longer .

Pay & Practical Details
- Pay: $11 per 30-minute visit, plus tips and mileage reimbursement between visits. Four visits a day, Monday–Friday, would earn $220 per week before tips and mileage. Actual schedules and earnings vary.
- Extras: Additional holiday pay, paid training, and CDW team shirts.
- Employment: Part-time W-2 position, with direct deposit on the 1st and 16th.
- Location: You must live in James Island, Downtown Charleston, Johns Island, Folly Beach, or Avondale.
- Requirements: Your own reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, a smartphone, and the ability to pass a background check.
The number of visits varies with your availability, location, and our clients’ schedules.
