About this role
At IAG, we’re ready for you. We're the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand. Our family of brands turns the IAG purpose of making your world a safer place into action by helping everyday Aussies and New Zealanders, supporting their ambitions and making insurance accessible.
Got a way with words? So do we.
We’re looking for an Employee Communications Advisor to join our team, someone who knows that great communication is about more than getting the words right.
You’ll find the story in a complicated brief; turn the complex into something people actually understand and help our leaders and teams communicate in ways that connect.
Sometimes that means writing the message. Sometimes it means having the confidence to challenge, influence and offer a different perspective when you believe there’s a better way to reach the audience.
You’ll work across IAG on the things that matter to our people, bringing smart thinking, sharp writing and good judgement to everything from a quick piece of content to a major employee campaign.
It’s a fast-moving environment, so you’ll need to be comfortable juggling priorities, building strong relationships and getting across new topics quickly. If you love words, aren’t afraid of a tricky brief and know how to put AI to good use, we should talk.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney).
What You'll Do
- Develop and deliver employee communication campaigns that help our people understand what’s happening, why it matters and how it connects to our purpose.
- Turn complex information into clear, engaging content across different audiences, channels and formats.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand the communication need, shape the brief and recommend the best approach.
- Provide trusted communications advice and use your judgement and audience insight to shape effective outcomes.
- Find the stories and opportunities that will inform, engage and connect our people.
- Manage communication activities and campaigns from planning through to delivery.
- Use employee insights, feedback and data to understand what’s working and continually improve how we communicate.
What You'll Bring
First and foremost, you’ll be an excellent communicator and writer.
You’ll also bring:
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience developing and delivering communications across different audiences, channels and formats, from individual pieces of content through to broader campaigns.
- The confidence to challenge, influence and offer trusted communications advice, and to speak up when you believe there’s a better approach.
- Curiosity and business judgement, with the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar or complex topics and find what matters.
- The ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders at different levels.
- Excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- A willingness to try new ideas and approaches, including using technology and AI to make communications more effective.
What We Offer
