About this role
Description
Are you passionate about storytelling that resonates with audiences across Australia and New Zealand? We are looking for a Senior Creative Executive to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping original content for one of the world's most watched entertainment platforms. In this role, you will evaluate creative material, guide writers and directors through development, and champion projects from concept through to delivery. You will bring a deep understanding of the Australian and New Zealand entertainment landscape, strong relationships with local talent, and the creative instincts to identify stories that captivate audiences. If you are a collaborative, curious creative professional who thrives on building something meaningful, we want to hear from you.
Key job responsibilities
- Evaluate pitches, scripts, and creative proposals to identify compelling original content opportunities, providing clear and constructive feedback to writers, directors, and producers throughout the development process.
- Lead end-to-end creative development on assigned projects, guiding talent through outlines, drafts, and production milestones while managing timelines and stakeholder expectations.
- Build and maintain relationships with production companies, agencies, writers, directors, and other creative talent across Australia and New Zealand to strengthen the pipeline of original programming.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, marketing, legal, and finance teams to align on creative strategy, resolve blockers, and ensure smooth project progression from greenlight through launch.
- Leverage data insights and audience trends to inform creative decisions, integrating new tools and approaches — including generative AI where appropriate — to enhance content quality and development efficiency.
A day in the life
Your morning might begin reviewing script drafts and preparing detailed creative notes for an upcoming writers' meeting. By midday, you could be in a pitch session with a local production company, assessing new ideas for the slate. Afternoons often involve cross-functional syncs with production and marketing partners to keep projects on track. You will regularly connect with agents and talent across the region, staying close to emerging voices and cultural conversations that shape what audiences want to watch next.
