About this role

Create your best future and join Westpac as a Release Train Delivery Lead

What’s the role?

As a Release Train Delivery Lead, you'll play a key role in helping our teams operate as a connected, data-enabled delivery system, turning strategy into great customer and business outcomes predictably and efficiently. Based in Sydney in a permanent, full-time position, you'll bring together Product, Engineering, Architecture and Delivery to align priorities, investment and execution.

You'll orchestrate planning across multiple squads, understanding dependencies, constraints and delivery flow across the system. Using data, automation and AI, you'll create clear visibility of progress, capacity, risks and outcomes, identify emerging bottlenecks and help teams make better, faster decisions. Rather than administering process, you'll create the conditions for autonomous teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready outcomes.

Working closely with senior technology and business leaders, you'll bring a business manager mindset to balancing priorities, capacity and investment, using evidence to guide trade-offs and forecasting. With a Scrum Master mindset, you'll continuously improve how the system works, strengthening collaboration, removing systemic friction and helping teams achieve sustainable flow in a fast-paced environment.

What do I need?

You'll bring a systems mindset, strong delivery and people leadership skills, and the ability to use data, technology and commercial judgement to create clarity in complex environments. You will possess or be willing to learn the following:

- Strong understanding of commodity derivatives, financial markets or trading environments, with the ability to connect customer and business priorities to technology investment and delivery outcomes.

- Experience managing and shaping backlogs across Product, Engineering and business teams, connecting strategy, capacity, investment and execution across multiple squads.

- Proven ability to think systemically across complex technology environments, managing dependencies, constraints and competing priorities while improving end-to-end delivery flow.

- Strong stakeholder leadership and communication skills, with the confidence to influence decisions and create alignment across senior, technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Experience using data, AI, automation and delivery insights to improve forecasting, capacity planning, risk management, decision-making and continuous improvement.
