The Global Payment Tech team is the core engine powering ByteDance's global payment and financial services, spanning payment acquiring, wallets, financial products, insurance, and foreign exchange for users and merchants worldwide.
We span engineering, data, and AI, building high-concurrency, highly available systems across multi-currency, multi-market complexity, and embedding AI into risk control, credit decisioning, and operations automation.
You will grow cross-disciplinary expertise at the intersection of payments, finance, and AI.

The Global Payment team of ByteDance provides payment solutions — including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on, to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on ByteDance platforms including TikTok.

- Design and develop machine learning algorithms to combat financial compliance risks and identify potential compliance issues, and uncover potential emerging risks.
- Focus on live streaming, e-commerce, and other business scenarios, exploring new paradigms for financial security in internet-based contexts.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, Generative AI, LLM, and VLM. Improve compliance operation review efficiency.
- Explore the application and implementation of cutting-edge research such as large language models, graph neural networks, and multimodal techniques in financial risk scenarios.
- Work with datasets for image processing, text analysis, and multimodal model training.
Minimum Qualification(s):
- Bachelor in computer science, computer engineering, statistics, applied mathematics, data science or other related disciplines;
- Experienced in AI modeling, familiar with at least one framework of TensorFlow / PyTorch / MXNet;
- Has good learning and communication skills, a strong sense of curiosity and responsibility, a spirit of exploration, and self-motivation.
Preferred Qualification(s):
- Published relevant papers in high-level international conferences and academic journals (including but not limited to CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NIPS, ICML, AAAI, TPAMI, IJCV, etc.), or won awards in high-level competitions
- Relevant internship experience with hands-on exposure to the tech stack
- Interested in the payment industry
