About LondonEnergy

At LondonEnergy, we’re proud of our vital role in managing North London’s waste and protecting the environment. As part of the team, you’ll already know that we handle and process 750,000 tonnes of waste each year, making us the second largest waste contract in the UK.

Together, we generate enough energy from waste to power around 80,000 homes annually and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres. This is only possible thanks to the dedication of our people, who make a real difference every day.

About the role:

Join our growing reUse network as we open our brand-new shop at the beginning of January! This is an exciting opportunity to be the first person to operate the store, taking responsibility for its day-to-day running and creating a welcoming space for the local community.

As the sole worker in the shop, you’ll deliver excellent customer service, manage in-store and online sales, create attractive displays and maximise the value of reusable goods. You’ll need to be proactive, organised and confident working independently, while contributing to our wider team’s mission to promote sustainability, reduce waste and support local communities.

Working days: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

If you’re passionate about reuse and excited to help launch a brand-new shop, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

- Deliver excellent customer service, promote the environmental benefits of reUse, and support community events, donation drives and pop-up activities.
- Maintain attractive retail displays, safe housekeeping standards and creative merchandising to maximise customer engagement and sales.
- Support the movement and safe handling of reusable goods across the reUse network, working closely with RRC teams to improve item segregation and availability.
- Manage online sales platforms, including photographing stock, creating listings, handling customer enquiries and coordinating collections or dispatch.
- Process payments, maintain accurate stock and financial records, and support returns, refunds and other administrative procedures in line with company policies.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, report hazards and incidents, and work flexibly across multiple sites while adapting to changing operational needs and new initiatives.

Requirements

- Friendly, approachable and customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and basic numeracy skills.
- Experience in a customer-facing or retail environment, including cash handling and payment systems.
- Knowledge of stock management, pricing and visual merchandising.
- Confident using computers and MS Office applications.
- Experience with online selling platforms, multi-site working, or reUse/recycling environments would be advantageous.

Benefits

- Private Medical & Life Insurance
- Company Pension Scheme
- Annual Leave Package
- Employee Recognition Scheme
- Access to Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
- + Many more benefits
