About the Role and the Team
The Product organization is responsible for turning technology and research capabilities into valuable experiences that deliver YouGov’s world-leading, human-verified data to the world.
As a Senior Technical Product Manager, you’ll own a strategy and roadmap focused on Data Integrations. Leading on how YouGov's data reaches clients through APIs, MCP servers, and/or respondent-level data feeds. This is the connective layer between our data products (Profiles, BrandIndex, and custom research) and the tools, platforms, and AI workflows our clients run their businesses on.
This is a Senior hands-on technical role with real ownership, not a delivery-only seat, operating with a high degree of autonomy across a broad remit and influencing senior stakeholders and commercial decisions.
What You Will Be Doing
- Own the strategy and roadmap for the Data Integrations vertical, including client-facing APIs, MCP servers and direct data connections, setting clear success measures such as adoption, usage and time-to-integrate.
- Expand our MCP offering from beta to a scaled, well-documented product solution, as a strategic priority for the business.
- Identify opportunities from client needs, usage patterns and shifts in the AI-native data landscape, and turn them into prioritised problem areas to explore and solve.
- Join client and partner conversations to validate technical feasibility, scope use cases carefully, and prevent technical or commercial issues before they land.
- Deeply understand the perspectives of client technical teams, internal stakeholders, and commercial partners, using high emotional intelligence to bridge gaps and turn ambiguous requests into clear, deliverable solutions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Data Strategy, Engineering, and commercial colleagues to guide opportunities from ideation to launch, ensuring products meet agreed quality, security and data-privacy standards.
- Define what we do and don't support via API and MCP, including versioning and deprecation, and communicate that clearly and confidently to sales, clients, and internal teams.
- Partner with commercial and legal teams on how integrations go to market, reasoning about how product decisions affect commercial outcomes.
- Own the strategy for the documentation, assets, and self-serve materials that let clients integrate faster with less hand-holding.
- Track adoption and usage against agreed success measures to iterate on the integration experience and keep clients coming back.
- Build strong working relationships with the Product Director, Data Strategy, Engineering, Tech Enablement, Commercial and Legal teams, and with client technical teams and partners.
What You Need to Know (Technical & Behavioural Skills / Competencies)
- Proven track record in Enterprise SaaS Product Management, ideally shaping APIs, developer-facing products, or data platforms, including taking a product from concept through launch to scale.
- Strong technical grounding: you understand REST APIs, data delivery patterns, and integration workflows well enough to engage credibly with engineers and client technical teams.
- Familiarity with the AI-native data landscape, including MCP, LLM agents, and how clients are wiring data into tools like Claude and Cursor. Direct MCP experience is a strong plus.
- Commercially aware: comfortable working alongside sales and partnership teams, and able to reason about how product and technical decisions shape commercial outcomes.
- Confident in front of clients and senior stakeholders, able to scope a use case live and flag a concern with a clear recommendation
- A self-starting mindset: you spot issues independently and drive explorations without needing constant guidance, and you're comfortable leading a broad remit with a lot of autonomy .
- Sharp analytical skills and the curiosity to experiment and embrace uncertainty in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding communication skills, fluent in English, to tailor messages for technical and non-technical audiences alike, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Data literacy: you understand the difference between aggregated and respondent-level data, and can reason about what different use cases actually need.
- High emotional intelligence: you understand the perspectives of client technical teams, internal stakeholders and commercial partners, and bridge gaps between them (trust each other).
- Awareness of data privacy, licensing and security considerations when delivering respondent-level data to clients.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with data delivery, API integrations, or business intelligence tooling.
- Familiarity with AI technologies and agentic workflows, and how data feeds into them.
- Background in market research, audience intelligence, or ad tech.
- Experience working with data partnerships or audience activation use cases.
