About this role

Overview

The Mission Critical Low Voltage QA/QC Foreman is a working field quality lead who performs inspections and coordinates the daily activities of assigned QA/QC inspectors. The role verifies basket tray, trapeze supports, copper cabling, fiber optic systems, racks, cabinets, and telecommunications bonding against approved drawings, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and project quality plans. This position organizes inspection coverage, documents deficiencies, verifies corrective work, and confirms testing and turnover readiness while maintaining independent quality oversight.

Responsibilities

- Plan daily inspection assignments and coordinate coverage with the QA/QC Superintendent, installation foremen, and construction schedule.

- Perform in-process, first-work, pre-concealment, and final inspections using approved drawings, specifications, submittals, details, and checklists.

- Inspect basket tray, ladder rack, trapeze supports, anchorage, fittings, routing, clearances, support spacing, workmanship, and bonding against approved requirements.

- Inspect copper cabling for approved materials, pathway use, support, bend radius, separation, labeling, cable management, termination quality, and certification readiness.

- Inspect fiber optic routing, protection, slack storage, enclosures, cassettes, connector cleanliness, polarity, labeling, splicing, and testing readiness.

- Verify telecommunications bonding conductors, lugs, clamps, busbars, rack and cabinet connections, identification, and required continuity or resistance test records.

- Guide assigned inspectors on inspection criteria, consistent documentation, photo evidence, and deficiency follow-up.

- Record deficiencies with locations, drawing references, photographs, responsible parties, and required corrective actions; verify corrections before closure.

- Review copper and fiber test records for completeness, traceability, failures, retesting, and consistency with installed conditions; escalate technical questions.

- Coordinate quality walks, witness points, punch-list inspections, and area readiness with field operations, VDC, testing, commissioning, and client representatives.

- Maintain inspection logs, daily quality reports, redline observations, and turnover evidence, and report open-item status and upcoming inspection needs.

- Escalate recurring deficiencies, concealed-work risks, unapproved changes, and conditions affecting testing or turnover; apply quality holds only within assigned authority.

- Follow project safety, access, housekeeping, and energized-area requirements, and immediately report unsafe conditions through established project procedures.

Qualification

- Hands-on low-voltage installation, inspection, testing, or QA/QC experience, with experience leading daily field activities or coordinating inspections.

- Working knowledge of pathways, supports, copper cabling, fiber optics, telecommunications bonding, labeling, testing, and closeout.

- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, cable schedules, rack elevations, and manufacturer installation requirements.

- Ability to translate project requirements and applicable adopted codes and standards into clear inspection checks without approving unreviewed deviations.

- Ability to organize inspection assignments, coach inspectors, coordinate with installation teams, and maintain objective acceptance decisions.

- Proficiency with digital drawings, Microsoft Office, photo documentation, Bluebeam or comparable tools, and inspection tracking platforms.

- Ability to document deficiencies clearly, verify corrective work, and maintain complete inspection and test records.

- Strong organization, written communication, follow-through, and commitment to project safety and quality requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

- Mission-critical data center experience on hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise projects.

- BICSI Installer, Technician, or another relevant industry credential.

- Manufacturer training in copper, fiber optic, bonding, pathway, or support systems.

- Experience with copper certification testing, optical loss testing, OTDR results, connector inspection, and test-result management.

- OSHA 30, documented inspection or QA/QC training, and experience with first-work inspections, deficiency tracking, and turnover packages.
