About this role
About the job:
Shared IT Solutions runs the tools and platforms that KMD’s engineers and employees rely on every day. We are looking for a curious student who loves to learn to take ownership of several of these applications. One example is SonarCloud, a tool that checks code quality and security.
This is not about building new products. It is about making sure the tools we already have are used well, documented properly, compliant with security rules, and known by the people who can benefit from them. You will work in three connected areas: Product Ownership, Compliance and Internal Communication.
We also want you to work the way the future works. You will use AI tools in your daily tasks to do more in less time. You don’t need to know these tools yet. We will give you the space to learn them, and we expect you to want to.
What you will be doing:
You will be the go-to person for a portfolio of applications. You will learn how each one is used, who uses it, and whether we get full value from it. You will make sure each one is correctly recorded in our governance, risk and compliance tool. You will also help colleagues across KMD discover what’s new in our corporate IT tools by writing short, engaging posts on our internal communication channels. Throughout all of this, AI will be your working partner. You will use it to research, analyse, document and write.
Responsibilities:
Product Ownership
- Act as Product Owner for assigned applications, starting with SonarCloud and growing to more over time
- Make sure each tool is used to its intended extent, and spot features or licences that are underused
- Track usage and adoption, and report findings with clear recommendations
- Be the contact point for users and internal stakeholders for your applications
- Keep track of licences, renewals and changes, and support decisions on cost and value
Compliance
- Document each application as a software asset in our governance, risk and compliance tool and keep the records up to date
- Respond to questions from Security and Procurement about your applications
- Help with audits, risk reviews and compliance checks when needed
- Flag gaps or risks early to your manager
Internal Communication
- Write short posts on our internal communication channels about new features and changes in corporate IT tools
- Turn technical release notes into clear, practical messages for colleagues across KMD
- Help raise awareness and adoption of the tools our department provides
- Work with product owners and subject experts to gather input and check that content is accurate
Working with AI
- Learn and use AI tools in your daily work
- Use AI to analyse usage data, prepare documentation, draft answers and write posts
- Always check what AI produces before you rely on it, and follow KMD’s rules for using AI
- Share what works with the team, so others can learn from your experience
You are:
- Eager to learn, which matters most to us. You enjoy picking up new tools and topics, and you’re not afraid to start from zero
- Curious about AI and motivated to make it part of how you work
- A student in IT, Information Systems, Business, Communication or a related field
- Not expected to know SonarCloud or AI tools yet, because we will help you learn them
- Structured and detail-oriented, and you like keeping things organised and documented
- Comfortable talking to people and asking questions until you understand
- Good at explaining technical topics in simple, engaging language
- Able to take ownership and follow tasks through to the end
- Confident in written and spoken English
- Available for 30 hours per week , alongside your studies
