Starting Wage: $12.50/hour, with a shift differential available for the 5:00 AM shift..

The Jewish Community Center is looking for dependable, responsible individuals to join our aquatics team as part-time lifeguards! Whether you're looking for a second job, a few extra hours during the week, or a rewarding part-time position, we'd love to hear from you!

Never worked as a lifeguard before? That's okay!

If you're responsible, comfortable in the water, and interested in learning valuable lifesaving skills, we encourage you to apply!

Position Overview

Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming aquatic environment by monitoring swimmers, enforcing pool rules, and responding to emergencies when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

- Actively monitor the pool and enforce aquatic safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Remain alert and prepared to respond to emergencies at all times.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and welcoming attitude toward members, guests, and staff.
- Assist with pool maintenance through chemical testing, safety inspections, and required documentation.
- Inspect rescue equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Attend required training, communicate with supervisors, and complete additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification or ability to become certified through the JCC.
- Ability to physically perform necessary rescue skills, including lifting, pushing, and pulling as required.
- Ability to remain alert for extended periods and work indoors or outdoors as needed.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Salary Description
$12.50/hr
