About this role

Description & Requirements You’re curious, organized, and comfortable solving problems that don’t always have an obvious answer. You enjoy working with different teams, digging into details, and following an issue through to resolution. You’re comfortable balancing multiple priorities and communicating with stakeholders across different countries and functions. Here at Bloomberg, we don’t have a classic corporate culture. It’s a mix of technology, finance and media, with a collaborative environment where teams work closely together. In Procurement Operations, we partner across the organization and rely on accurate data, thoughtful problem-solving and strong communication to keep purchasing processes moving effectively.   Our Team: The Global Procurement Operations team supports the end-to-end purchasing process across Bloomberg. We partner with internal business stakeholders, Sourcing, Accounts Payable, Finance and suppliers to ensure purchases are processed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with Bloomberg policies. Our work includes purchase order creation and maintenance, supplier onboarding, invoice and payment issue resolution, contract administration, purchasing system support and ongoing operational improvements. The team supports a broad range of purchases across technology and non-technology categories, giving you exposure to different areas of Bloomberg’s business.   We will trust you to: Support the creation, review, amendment and release of purchase orders across LATAM and North America, covering both technology and non-technology purchases. Partner with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing requirements and ensure requests comply with procurement policies and processes. Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve purchasing issues, including pricing discrepancies, delivery delays, purchase order changes and invoice/payment exceptions. Partner closely with Accounts Payable and Finance to investigate invoice blocks, insufficient purchase order funding, receiving discrepancies and other procure-to-pay issues. Support supplier onboarding and supplier master-data processes, ensuring required information and documentation are complete and accurate. Assist with contract and purchasing documentation and maintain accurate records across internal systems. Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with stakeholders and suppliers to resolve outstanding actions. Analyze purchasing data and help identify discrepancies, process gaps and opportunities for operational improvement. Communicate with suppliers and Bloomberg stakeholders across multiple countries and time zones. Support ad hoc procurement projects, reporting, system testing and process-improvement initiatives. Develop a working knowledge of SAP and Bloomberg’s procurement tools and use them to research and resolve operational issues. You need to have: Fluency in English; advanced or fluent Spanish is a plus. Current enrollment in a university program and availability to work 6 hours per day for 1–2 years. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. A customer-focused mindset and the ability to work collaboratively with different stakeholders. The ability to prioritize multiple requests and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Curiosity and strong problem-solving skills — you should be comfortable investigating an issue rather than simply escalating it. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Interest in procurement, operations, supply chain, finance or business processes. Previous experience with SAP, ERP systems or data analysis is a plus, but not required   What you’ll learn: You’ll gain hands-on experience with the full procure-to-pay lifecycle at a global organization, including purchasing, supplier management, invoice resolution and procurement systems. You’ll work with stakeholders across Procurement, Finance, Accounts Payable, Sourcing and Bloomberg’s business units while developing practical experience with SAP and global procurement processes.
