About this role
How you embrace curiosity daily
- Lead month end and year end close for all French entities, ensuring accurate financial statements in line with Group Accounting Policies and IFRS.
- Review, challenge, and approve journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations, resolving significant balances prior to close.
- Own the review and integrity of inventory accounting, valuation, costing, and reserves, partnering with Supply Chain on physical cycle counts.
- Review and approve accruals, prepayments, and deferred revenue balances, enforcing strict cut off procedures to prevent period leakage.
- Oversee fixed asset additions in the register, maintain depreciation schedules, and partner with Technology teams to assess and capitalise projects.
- Guide the Accounting Service Centre on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable workflows to resolve issues and streamline close activities.
- Redesign and automate the France close process, consolidating manual reconciliations into an Oracle workflow within the central reporting framework.
How you make your mark
- Take ownership of the financial integrity of all French accounts, ensuring all statutory and Group reporting requirements are met.
- Act as the definitive interpreter of Group Accounting Policy for France, building the precedent for statutory, GAAP, and tax questions.
- Lead statutory audit activities as the primary contact for external auditors, ensuring audit findings are resolved quickly.
- Identify potential financial and balance sheet risks across a rolling six month horizon.
- Evaluate the impact of new accounting guidelines on workflows and update standard procedures with your peers.
- Partner with FP&A and Treasury to deliver weekly cash flow reporting and provide technical accounting insights for budgets and forecasts.
What you bring to the team
- Progressive accounting experience, ideally starting in a major audit practice followed by a senior reporting role in a multinational corporate environment.
- Deep understanding of GAAP and IFRS principles, statutory reporting standards, and month end close processes.
- Hands on experience managing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset registers, and inventory valuation.
- Strong partner management skills, working across FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Supply Chain, and shared service centres.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
- Experience working with enterprise ERP systems, preferably Oracle Fusion.
What sets you apart
