What You'll Do
As the Office Experience & Events Senior Manager for BCG’s Los Angeles office, you will lead and evolve a complex workplace experience and events portfolio across Los Angeles and Manhattan Beach, translating office priorities into effective operational plans and high-impact employee experiences. You will independently lead Office Experience, Concierge, and Events delivery; shape local service models and improvements; and serve as a trusted thought partner to the Business Management Leader and senior stakeholders on workplace operations, affiliation, service quality, cost, and risk. You will lead and develop experienced team members, drive change and continuous improvement, and contribute expertise to broader Office Experience initiatives and project teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading complex front- and back-of-house operations across Los Angeles and providing oversight and guidance for Manhattan Beach, ensuring consistent standards for concierge, visitor experience, meetings and catering, seating, facilities, safety, and overall workplace functionality.
- Translating office leadership priorities into operational and events plans; shaping and continuously improving the local Office Experience & Events service model to meet evolving business and employee needs.
- Developing and delivering a comprehensive annual events and engagement plan that strengthens affiliation, inclusion, connection, and office culture, including marquee events and ongoing in-office programming.
- Owning operational plans and changes within scope, using sound judgment to navigate ambiguity and balance service quality, employee experience, cost, risk, and business priorities.
- Partnering with Finance and office leadership on budget planning, forecasting, and resource allocation across Office Experience and Events; identifying opportunities to optimize spend and increase value.
- Support the office’s real estate strategy, partnering with Office Leadership and Global Real Estate on renovations and workplace projects to ensure operational needs and employee experience considerations are incorporated into planning and execution.
- Leading landlord, building management, and key vendor relationships; setting service expectations, addressing performance issues, and driving improvements in quality, efficiency, and value.
- Partnering with IT, Global Real Estate, Global Security, Procurement, Administrative Services, and other functions to resolve complex workplace needs and improve cross-functional processes.
- Serving as a key partner on office expansion, renovation, space optimization, technology, safety/security, and other workplace initiatives, helping translate business requirements into practical solutions.
- Using stakeholder feedback, operational data, event insights, and other measures to identify trends, anticipate needs, evaluate tradeoffs, and recommend improvements.
- Leading change initiatives within the local function, embedding new processes, tools, standards, and regional guidance in a way that supports adoption and sustainable execution.
- Leading and developing Office Experience, Concierge, and Events team members, including experienced staff and/or managers; owning team direction, capacity planning, performance, development, and succession planning with limited guidance from the BML.
- Creating a collaborative, high-performing team environment with clear roles, shared accountability, effective delegation, and continuity plans for anticipated and unexpected absences.
- Building credibility with senior stakeholders by framing complex or sensitive issues clearly, bringing recommendations rather than updates alone, and fostering alignment on decisions and tradeoffs.
- Actively contributing to Office Experience functional forums, working groups, and priority initiatives; sharing local insights and expertise and helping advance scalable approaches across the function.
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, health and safety standards, security protocols, confidentiality expectations, and BCG values.
YOU’RE GOOD AT:
- Leading complex, high-volume office operations and events with advanced functional expertise, independent judgment, and a strong hospitality mindset.
- Structuring and solving moderately complex and ambiguous problems, gathering relevant perspectives, evaluating options, and recommending practical solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Moving comfortably between strategy and execution - setting direction within your scope while ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners; influencing outcomes through clear framing, thoughtful recommendations, tact, and consensus building.
- Anticipating operational and event needs, identifying patterns and root causes, and driving continuous improvement rather than relying on precedent alone.
- Using data, feedback, and financial insight to make decisions, prioritize investments, and demonstrate value.
- Leading experienced teams through coaching, delegation, performance management, capacity planning, and development of future leaders.
- Driving change effectively, communicating the rationale and expectations clearly and embedding new ways of working.
- Managing budgets and resources with discipline, balancing service quality and employee experience with cost efficiency and risk.
- Maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and discretion while consistently representing BCG’s values.
