Pay Rate: $31–$37 per hour (Based on Experience)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 40 Hours Per Week (Flexibility and Weekend Availability Required)
Position Overview
Superior Skilled Trades (SST) is hiring a Boiler Operator for a direct hire opportunity with a rapidly growing food manufacturing company in Hackettstown, NJ.
The ideal candidate will have experience operating and maintaining high-pressure boilers and temperature-critical systems within an industrial or food manufacturing environment.
This position is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of boiler, heating, and cooling systems while maintaining compliance with New Jersey regulations, OSHA standards, and food safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate and maintain high-pressure boilers in accordance with NJAC 12:90 and applicable state regulations.
- Monitor, analyze, and maintain heating, cooling, and thermal systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform thermal analysis, system testing, and equipment performance evaluations.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and thermal system issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Maintain accurate operating logs, maintenance documentation, procedures, and process control diagrams.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams during equipment commissioning, upgrades, and daily operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, equipment performance, and overall system reliability.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, food safety, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Support a safe, clean, and efficient food manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey High Pressure Black Seal Boiler Operator License (Required).
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience operating or maintaining boilers, thermal systems, or related industrial equipment.
- Strong understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and industrial energy systems.
- Experience troubleshooting equipment and performing preventive maintenance.
- Ability to identify mechanical and operational issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with maintenance and production teams.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules and weekends as operational needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or industrial processing environments.
- Knowledge of FDA, USDA, SQF, and GMP food safety standards.
- Experience with thermal oil transfer systems.
- Bilingual communication skills.
