About DataMap
DataMap.ai is an AI-first technology consulting and solutions company focused on enterprise systems and automation. We build applications, implement ERP platforms, and provide managed services and production support at scale. Our clients include Fortune 500 enterprises and high-growth companies such as Google. They rely on us to modernize operations and automate workflows in ways that produce measurable business value.
DataMap is growing fast. We value innovation and collaboration, we work with urgency, and we reward speed, precision, and accountability. Teams here have the authority to solve complex enterprise problems and deliver results.
Why Join DataMap
At DataMap, projects run the way we expect every project to run in five years, with AI copilots drafting plans, surfacing risks, and writing first-draft status reports. That frees more of your time for clients and outcomes.
You manage every type of work on your projects, are the primary point of contact for the client, and go after the next piece of business that grows out of the relationship. Functional consultants bring the domain depth, and DataMap's delivery leadership supports you on escalations, so you can concentrate on leading the team, delivering the project, and growing what comes next.
Role Overview
As a Project Manager, you manage projects of every type end to end, from mobilization through deployment and support. Project management at DataMap owns the management of all of our work, which covers everything: customer work, partner work, partnership growth, internal projects, and operations projects. The work ranges from implementations of partner platforms for enterprise clients and development of the products and customer portals we build and sell (Positron, RoboApprover, Itemova EDI SaaS) to the partnership-growth, internal, and operations projects that make DataMap itself run and grow. You are the primary point of contact for your stakeholders, whether client, partner, or internal, and you are accountable for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and the client relationship on each project. You make day-to-day delivery decisions within the agreed scope, plan, and budget, and you bring scope, commercial, and delivery risk to delivery leadership early.
You also go after business development on the projects you are on and lead your team members. Business development means identifying leads for new software and service sales, drafting the orders, and getting customer signatures, with guidance from Sales and delivery leadership. Leading your team means you proactively engage its members, ask what they're working on, suggest course corrections, and drive business outcomes.
You'll use AI tools every day, and at this level you're expected to build your own AI-assisted workflow for delivery and business development, including first-draft orders.
Your Growth Path
Project management at DataMap has a defined five-level ladder that runs from delivery support to leading the practice: Project Coordinator, Senior Project Coordinator, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Director of Project Management. We post every level and promote from within, and moving up depends on performance and on the needs of the business. Beyond the Director level, the path continues into executive leadership, such as DataMap's Vice President, Operations & Delivery.
At this level you are accountable for the projects you run and the client relationships that come with them, you go after business development on those projects, and you lead the team members who deliver them. Strong Project Managers can grow into Senior Project Manager, where they run programs with executive sponsors, expand those practices to program and account scale, lead others inside and outside the PMO, and drive change in process, structure, visibility, communications, and change management. Along the way you work on Fortune 500 client engagements and build AI-first delivery skills that carry into every level.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery
- Manage projects of every type (customer, partner, partnership-growth, internal, and operations work) from mobilization through deployment and support, following DataMap's implementation methodology and tailoring it to each client with the functional consultants who bring the domain depth.
- Build and maintain the project plan, budget, timeline, milestones, and deliverables with client and partner staff.
- Be the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, whether client, partner, or internal, run the status cadence, and set and manage their expectations.
- Facilitate requirements and process sessions that start from the business need before the features.
- Forecast hours, budget, and staffing, track actuals against plan, and flag variances early.
- Manage risks and issues in the RAID log, use AI-driven risk detection to catch schedule slips early, drive the mitigation, and escalate early and clearly when on-time delivery is at risk.
- Manage scope through change control, and prepare change requests when scope moves.
- Run agile delivery for product and portal development: sprints, backlogs, and releases with DataMap's engineers.
- Build and refine your AI-assisted delivery workflow: project plans, estimates, RAID logs, and client-ready status reports drafted with AI copilots and finished with your judgment.
- Create reusable deliverables and accelerators that make the next project faster than the last.
Business development
- Go after business development on the projects you are on: identify leads for new software and service sales, draft the orders, and get customer signatures. Those sales include DataMap's own products (Positron, RoboApprover, Itemova EDI SaaS), the partner platforms we implement, and follow-on services such as new phases, integrations, and managed services.
- Draft the orders (order forms, change orders, and SOW amendments) with guidance from Sales and delivery leadership. AI produces the first draft, and you get the scope right.
- Walk sponsors through each order's scope, its value, and what it means for their project, answer their questions, and get the customer signature.
Team leadership
- Lead the consultants, developers, and coordinators on your projects: proactively engage team members, ask what they're working on, suggest course corrections, and drive business outcomes.
- Break the work into tasks, assign it, and make clear what good looks like.
- Delegate, unblock, and resolve issues within the team, and know which calls to make and which to escalate.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience managing or coordinating software or technology projects, including customer-facing responsibility for scope, schedule, and client expectations.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Regular use of AI assistants (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to plan, estimate, report, and draft. Bring examples.
- Experience following a structured project management methodology and tailoring it to each project.
- Comfort with commercial conversations about scope, value, and price on your own projects, and examples of spotting new software or service needs on a project and carrying them through to a signed order or change order.
- A habit of leading teams proactively: you engage team members, ask what they're working on, course-correct before drift costs the project, and keep everyone pointed at business outcomes.
- The ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team: you know which decisions to make on your own and which to bring to delivery leadership, and you raise risks before they become surprises.
- You're detail-oriented, adaptable, curious, and positive, and you do your best work in a fast-moving consulting environment.
Preferred Experience
- PMP certification or equivalent experience (CAPM or PMI-ACP a plus).
- SaaS and ERP implementation experience (e.g., Coupa, Ariba, Salesforce, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum software development delivery: sprints, backlogs, and releases.
- Proficiency with Jira and Smartsheet, including their AI features; Lucidchart a plus.
- Exposure to integration and automation platforms such as Boomi.
- Experience drafting change orders, order forms, or SOW amendments.
- A track record of identifying follow-on work or expansion opportunities on your own projects.
- Experience building AI-assisted workflows for delivery or business development, such as prompt libraries, workflow templates, or first-draft status reports and orders.
Benefits & Perks
- Total compensation of base salary plus bonus.
- Unlimited vacation and a flexible work environment.
- Free catered lunch on Fridays at headquarters.
- On-site gym at headquarters.
- 401(k) with employer match.
- Health insurance with generous employer contribution.
