Job Description

Role Summary

Sia is looking for a Workday functional expert to own the end-to-end configuration of Payroll and Benefits for our US employee population. You will design, build, test and maintain the setup that drives accurate pay and benefits, and partner with HR, Finance and IT to keep it compliant with US federal and state regulations. This is a system ownership role, not a payroll processing role.

What you will own

- Configure and maintain Workday Payroll and Benefits end to end: pay groups, earnings and deductions, pay calculations, withholding and tax setup, benefit plans, eligibility rules and enrollment events.
- Build and maintain business processes, condition rules, calculated fields, security and role assignments for payroll and benefits.
- Translate HR, Finance and compliance requirements into system design. Write requirements, configuration specs and test plans, and run testing through to sign-off.
- Lead testing and deployment of Workday releases for Payroll and Benefits, including regression testing and adoption of new functionality, with the HRIS team.
- Design, support and troubleshoot integrations with third-party payroll, tax and benefits vendors, including file setup, error resolution and reconciliation.
- Diagnose and resolve root causes of payroll and benefits discrepancies at the configuration level, including business process routing (approvals, notifications, role assignments).
- Prepare for open enrollment and year-end by configuring plans, rates, eligibility and tax updates, and validating results.
- Validate output of payroll cycles through parallel testing, audits, reconciliations and variance analysis to confirm configuration is performing as designed.
- Maintain documentation of configuration decisions, business process changes and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

Requirements & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems or a related field.
- 2+ years of hands-on Workday Payroll and/or Benefits configuration experience for a US population. This means you have built and changed the setup
- Demonstrated experience configuring business processes, condition rules, calculated fields and security in Workday.
- Experience with at least one end-to-end implementation, major release, or open enrollment configuration cycle.
- Strong understanding of US payroll tax, wage and hour rules, multi-state compliance, and benefits and leave regulations.
- Strong analytical skills and close attention to detail in a high-compliance environment.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication.
- A plus: Workday certification in Payroll (US) or Benefits.
- A plus: Experience with EIB, Core Connectors or Workday Studio for payroll and benefits integrations.
