Custodian (Part-Time Weekend)

Pay: Starting at $15.00 per hour

Schedule: Weekend shifts available:

- Saturday & Sunday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

- Saturday & Sunday, 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Position Overview

We are looking for a dependable and motivated Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for facility guests, participants, and staff. This position plays an important role in the daily appearance and operation of the facility by ensuring all public, recreational, and employee areas remain clean and well-maintained. Successful candidates are self-starters who take pride in their work and can effectively manage cleaning tasks with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Clean and maintain facility areas through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and other routine custodial tasks.

- Sanitize and restock restrooms to ensure cleanliness and proper supply levels.

- Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste appropriately.

- Maintain the cleanliness of gymnasiums and basketball courts, including sweeping and spot cleaning playing surfaces.

- Clean common areas such as hallways, entrances, stairways, break rooms, and gathering spaces.

- Monitor inventory levels of custodial supplies and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.

- Respond promptly to spills and other cleaning needs to help maintain a safe environment.

- Assist with room setups and breakdowns for programs, meetings, and special events.

- Identify and report maintenance concerns or facility issues requiring repair.

- Follow all safety procedures and organizational guidelines.

- Work cooperatively with coworkers and communicate effectively regarding facility needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.

- Knowledge of cleaning methods, products, and equipment.

- Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks efficiently.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Ability to lift, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods.

- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

- Effective communication and customer service skills.

- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
