About this role
The Blue Valley Recreation Commission is seeking a passionate and dedicated Swimming Instructor to join our team. As a Swimming Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swimming lessons to children of all ages and skill levels in a fun and safe environment.
Flexible Schedules available for morning, daytime, evenings and weekends.
Starting pay is $16.50/hour depending on availability and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Follows safety procedures and practices.
- Teach infants, toddlers, children and adults water safety skills
- Maintain paperwork and update swim lessons as needed
- Be able to teach all swim lesson skills to the standard set by supervisor
- Work with minimal supervision during assigned class times
- Effectively communicate with children, parents, guardians, and other instructors, addressing students' needs and providing timely updates to parents and guardians.
- Maintain all equipment used during swim lessons
- This is a part-time hourly position.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Must be 15 years or older
- Previous Swimming experience preferred. Training provided.
- Ability to work with all ages and skill levels
- Ability to modify lesson plans to meet the needs of each participant
- Passion for teaching and inspiring children to learn and grow
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Must be able to pass a background check
