About this role
The Grinder / TimeSaver Machine Operator is responsible for grinding, sanding, deburring, and finishing metal parts to meet quality specifications. This position operates manual grinding equipment and Timesaver finishing machines to remove burrs, improve surface finishes, and prepare parts for welding, painting, or final assembly. The operator must maintain quality standards, productivity goals, and a safe work environment. Also 20% spray paint tasks are required.
Responsibilities
- Operate TimeSaver sanding finishing equipment
- Perform grinding, deburring, and edge-breaking operations using hand grinders and other finishing tools.
- Inspect parts for defects, burrs, sharp edges, and surface finish requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and manufacturing specifications.
- Verify dimensions using measuring tools such as calipers, scales, and gauges.
- Load and unload materials safely from finishing equipment.
- Adjust machine settings to achieve required surface finishes and part specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and report equipment issues to supervision or maintenance.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Keep work areas clean and organized following 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Assist with material movement and support other manufacturing operations as needed.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4 years Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions and engineering drawings.
- Minimum of 2 years of prior experience using hand grinders, sanders, and finishing tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
