## About the role

We're looking for a Supply Chain Buyer to join our East Region Supply Chain team. You'll lead lower-risk sourcing activities and contract management across a range of goods and services, helping secure value for money, maintain supplier performance, and support the delivery of regional business objectives.

This is an excellent opportunity to build on your procurement and commercial experience while working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and central Supply Chain teams.
## Why this role matters

The East Region delivers a diverse portfolio of operational and project activity, and effective procurement is critical to ensuring teams have the right goods and services in place when they need them. As a Buyer, you'll play an important role in supporting regional delivery by securing value for money, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring sourcing activities are completed efficiently and compliantly.

Working closely with regional stakeholders, suppliers, and colleagues across Supply Chain, you'll help shape commercial outcomes through sourcing, negotiation, and contract management activities. Your ability to balance business needs, commercial value, and supplier performance will contribute directly to the successful delivery of regional priorities across the East Region.
## What you'll be doing

- Lead sourcing activities including Requests for Proposal (RFPs), framework call-offs, contract extensions, and competitive tender exercises

- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and contracts to secure value for money

- Analyse supplier proposals and commercial submissions to identify the most suitable solutions

- Manage contract renewals, amendments, and contract management activities across an assigned supplier portfolio

- Conduct market research and supplier assessments to identify opportunities, risks, and new suppliers

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and align sourcing outcomes to business needs

- Produce spend analysis, sourcing reports, and recommendations to support commercial decision-making

What you'll bring

You'll be a commercially minded procurement professional who can manage sourcing activity independently while building productive relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.

Essential

- Experience delivering sourcing and contract management activities across a variety of spend categories

- Commercial awareness with the ability to identify and deliver value through procurement activities

- Experience managing sourcing projects from initiation through to contract award and implementation

- Working knowledge of supplier negotiations, contract drafting, and contract management practices

- Ability to analyse data, supplier proposals, and market information to make informed recommendations

- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective supplier relationships

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results independently and as part of a team

- Full UK driving licence

Desirable

- Degree, or equivalent, in Business, Finance, Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline

- Experience supporting the development of category strategies

- Knowledge of supply chain regulations, governance, and procurement best practice

- Experience working within a regulated or infrastructure-based organisation

- Understanding of contract performance management and supplier improvement activities

What we offer

- Market-leading double-match pension (up to 12% company contribution)

- Annual performance bonus up to 6%

- Access to the Tusker salary sacrifice car scheme

- 26 days holiday (plus statutory holidays)

- 10x salary life assurance and income protection

- Flexible benefits including healthcare, dental, and technology options

- Family-friendly policies, wellbeing support, and professional development opportunities
