About this role
Hey! We’re Plum, your smart saving and investing app on a mission to help grow money for life. Whether you’re stashing the cash for tea and toast in your first home or catching some rays during retirement, Plum’s got your back.
Since 2016, over 2 million people in 10 European markets have set aside more than £2 billion with our clever automation and AI – that’s the magic of Plum! As recognition for our work, we’ve received awards from the likes of Deloitte, Finder, and more.
That’s all down to our passionate team of 200+ Plumsters, who work around Europe to help us achieve our mission. And now we’re looking for more brilliant people to join us on our journey.
The role:
We are looking for a highly proactive, organised and resourceful individual to join our People team in London as Personal Assistant to the CEO and Founder of Plum.
Working closely with the Founder and CEO, you will play a key role in helping him operate effectively, protecting his time and ensuring that priorities move forward seamlessly. This is a role for someone who thrives in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, is comfortable navigating ambiguity and can bring structure to a constantly evolving schedule.
You will need to be highly autonomous, exercise sound judgement and make decisions independently, anticipating needs and solving problems before they arise. Beyond traditional administrative support, we are looking for someone who is curious about technology, comfortable using AI and automation tools, and always looking for smarter and more efficient ways to work.
No two days will be the same. If you enjoy working at pace, take ownership naturally and thrive in the dynamic environment of a founder-led business, this could be the role for you.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the CEO’s calendar and priorities: Proactively manage a high volume of meeting requests, competing priorities and last-minute changes, using sound judgement to protect time and ensure the right things get done.
- Anticipate needs and solve problems: Stay one step ahead by identifying potential conflicts, anticipating requirements and independently resolving day-to-day challenges with minimal guidance.
- Manage travel and ad hoc requests: Coordinate complex travel arrangements and handle a variety of business and personal requests with discretion, flexibility and attention to detail.
- Create exceptional stakeholder experiences: Organise internal and external meetings, ensuring everything is well prepared and delivering a seamless, professional experience for everyone involved.
- Manage communications effectively: Triage and respond to a high volume of emails and requests, identifying priorities, following up proactively and ensuring important matters never fall through the cracks.
- Leverage AI and automation: Use AI tools and automation to streamline administrative processes, reduce repetitive tasks and improve the efficiency of the CEO’s day-to-day operations.
- Bring structure to a fast-moving environment: Build and continuously improve systems, processes and ways of working that help the CEO stay organised and effective as the business scales.
- Handle sensitive matters with discretion: Manage confidential information, communications and requests with professionalism, sound judgement and a high level of integrity.
Who you are
- Highly proactive and autonomous: You take ownership, anticipate what needs to happen next and are confident making decisions without waiting for direction on every task.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and pace: You have experience working in a high-growth business, ideally alongside a founder or CEO, and can stay organised and effective when priorities change quickly.
- A strong decision-maker: You can assess competing demands, distinguish between urgent and important matters, and know when to act independently and when to escalate.
- Tech-savvy and curious about AI: You are comfortable using AI tools and technology to improve productivity, automate administrative tasks and find more effective ways of working.
- Exceptionally organised: You can manage multiple priorities simultaneously, maintain strong attention to detail and ensure nothing slips through the cracks.
- A confident communicator: You build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, adapting your communication style to different audiences and situations.
- Resourceful and solutions-oriented: You think critically, remain calm under pressure and focus on finding practical solutions rather than waiting for problems to be resolved by others.
- Experienced in executive support: You have previous experience supporting a CEO or Founder in a similar capacity. Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is strongly preferred.
- Happy to work in person: You are able to work from our London office at least 3 days per week.
