Marsh Agency helps people and organizations manage risk and prepare for the future through insurance, benefits, retirement, and wealth management strategies. We believe in hands-on proactive service, data-driven insights, and understanding how global events can impact local decisions. As a trusted partner, we show our clients what’s possible and guide them during every step of their journey.
A day in the life.
As an Assistant Vice President on the Corporate Development team, you’ll help support Marsh Agency’s growth strategy by identifying, high quality acquisition partners on behalf of Marsh Agency. The Assistant Vice President will help lead outbound outreach to prospective acquisition prospects through various warm leads, referrals and cold calling efforts to enhance the quality and quantity of Marsh Agency’s deal pipeline. You will work directly with our regional leadership teams to determine their acquisition priorities and assist in moving opportunities through the acquisition funnel. This individual will build important relationships with independent agency and RIA owners, understand their business and succession objectives, and introduce opportunities that align with Marsh Agency’s growth strategy. The successful candidate for this position will be poised to develop significant relationships both internally within Marsh Agency with our regional leadership and also externally with high quality prospects to drive a critical part of Marsh Agency’s growth strategy.

We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:
- At least 8+ years of experience in a sales, M&A sourcing/origination or business development capacity strongly desired
- Have passions for Marsh Agency, originating deals and opportunities
- Confidence and poise in speaking to potential acquisition prospects and entrepreneurs and building owner-level trust

- Patience, resilience and disciplined outreach to sustain relationships and objections through potentially longer sales cycles
- Pipeline management and organizational skills to keep accurate records of opportunities and coordinate with our execution team
- Willingness to travel to meet with acquisition prospects
These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:
- Prior insurance brokerage (e.g., P&C, benefits) or retirement/wealth management experience and knowledge a plus
- Commercial and financial judgement to assess potential fit with our acquisition model
We know there are excellent candidates who might not check all of these boxes. Don’t be shy. If you’re close, we’d be very interested in meeting you.
