The organization is seeking a motivated and hard-working Stadium Operations, Manager who will be responsible for overall stadium maintenance at Excite Ballpark, including but not limited to stadium cleaning, groundskeeping, equipment inventory and upkeep, parking, EMTs and security.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Administrative and managerial oversight of the department:
Implementing a comprehensive maintenance program to operate the ballpark at professional standards.
- Ensuring stadium and team assets remain in ideal working condition. This includes maintaining an inventory of operational assets (ie, tables, chairs, pop-ups, equipment), protecting assets from unnecessary weathering, and budgeting to replace items near the end of their lifespan.
- Delivering a clean, safe environment, including storage and back of house areas, for fans, staff, and players.
- Coordinating all required inspections and maintenance contracts as needed (fire suppression system, fire extinguishers, inflatables, security system, etc)
- General duties include but are not limited to:
Pre-event stadium preparation for all games and special events
- Ensuring stadium is cleaned on a year-round basis
- Pre-season preparation and post-season winterization
- Coordination with the City of San Jose and contractors to facilitate any stadium repairs and renovations
- Coordinate with Security vendor to ensure coverage during events and overnight.
- Coordinate with EMT vendor to ensure coverage during events and overnight.
- Oversight of San Jose Giants parking operations and personnel
- Provide annual repair, replacement and upgrade recommendations regarding stadium facilities and equipment to ballclub leadership
- Oversight of maintenance for San Jose Giants food and beverage facilities and equipment.
- Ability and willingness to be on-site for all San Jose Giants baseball games and other ballpark events to ensure operational integrity
- Communicate clearly and work well with superiors and fellow employees
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Degree in Sports Management or related field and/or 3+ years experience in an operations role for a professional sports team
- Knowledge of basic mechanical and plumbing operations
- Must have high attention to detail and take pride in quality of work
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Experience with permitting and code compliance preferred
- Experience managing events in a sports or entertainment facility preferred
- Flexibility to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays
- Must be able to engage in strenuous activity including lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Capable of working in variable weather conditions including extreme heat and rain showers
