What You’ll Do

As a Personal Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting clients with personal care needs, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.

- Supporting clients with mobility and transfers while ensuring their safety and well-being.

- Performing light housekeeping tasks, including tidying, laundry, and maintaining a clean and organized living environment.

- Engaging clients in meaningful activities and providing companionship.

- Observing and reporting changes in clients’ physical or mental condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.

- Maintaining accurate documentation of care provided and completing required reports.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

Qualifications & Certifications

- Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from a program approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities or the Ministry of Education.

- Valid CPR and First Aid certification.

- Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past six months.

- Proof of a negative two-step TB Skin Test (Mantoux) completed within the past two years.

- Valid Ontario Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.

Skills & Availability

- Availability to work morning, day, or evening shifts, including alternating weekends.

- Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading, writing, and conversing.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Empathy, patience, and the ability to support individuals with diverse needs.

- Ability to work independently and provide quality care in clients’ homes and other care settings.

- Previous experience in home care or a similar environment is preferred.
