Project Manager, Design-Build Industrial & Commercial

- Location: Rosemont, IL (projects across Chicago, Northwest Indiana and Southeast Wisconsin)
- Job type: Full-time, in person (office and job sites)
- Pay: $115,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience

A design-build general contractor in the Chicago area, building industrial and commercial projects for developers, REITs, brokerage firms and end users.

MUST HAVES

- 5+ years as a project manager with a general contractor or design-builder
- Industrial or commercial ground-up work (warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, build-to-suit)
- Strong with budgets, buyout and owner-facing reporting
- Experience with developer or REIT clients
- Lives within reach of the Chicago area
- Steady tenure with past employers

The role

You'll lead design-build projects from preconstruction through closeout. You'll own the budget, schedule and client relationship, and work hand in hand with the superintendent in the field.

What you'll do

- Run industrial and commercial design-build projects: warehouse and distribution, manufacturing, build-to-suit and tenant work
- Coordinate design consultants and drive the design to budget
- Buy out the job, write subcontracts and manage subcontractors
- Own the schedule, cost reports, change orders and pay applications
- Be the main point of contact for owners, developers and brokers
- Close out projects: punch lists, warranties and turnover

Requirements

Qualifications

- 5+ years as a project manager with a general contractor or design-builder
- Industrial or commercial ground-up work
- Tilt-up or precast and pre-engineered metal buildings are a plus
- Strong with budgets, buyout and owner-facing reporting
- Experience with developer or REIT clients
- Lives within reach of the Chicago area and works on site as projects need
- Steady tenure with past employers
