Job Summary:

This is an exciting one-year opportunity within the Business and Technology Transformation Branch to support the implementation of UKG Pro across the Parks and Recreation Division. Reporting to the Project Director, Digital Project Implementation, the Senior Systems Integrator P&R (UKG Pro Solution Architect) will join the eScheduling project team and provide the specialized UKG Pro expertise required to help ensure the Division’s established business processes and documented requirements are successfully translated into the new solution.

The successful candidate will bring direct, hands-on experience implementing and configuring UKG Pro and will apply that expertise to review existing requirements, understand current Kronos processes, and assess how those requirements can best be realized within UKG Pro. Working closely with the existing project team, divisional subject matter experts, the selected Systems Integrator and Technology Services Division, the successful candidate will identify gaps, risks and dependencies and make specific recommendations regarding UKG Pro configuration, integration, security, access and reporting. The role will provide Parks and Recreation with an informed technical perspective on UKG Pro that does not currently exist within the project team and will help ensure that proposed solutions remain aligned with the Division’s operational needs.

Major Responsibilities:

- Applies extensive hands-on UKG Pro implementation and configuration experience to provide an independent assessment of whether proposed solution designs and configuration approaches will effectively deliver Parks and Recreation's documented business requirements.

- Acts as Parks and Recreation’s subject matter expert for UKG Pro, providing specialized functional and technical advice to the eScheduling project team throughout implementation.

- Reviews existing business, functional and technical requirements and assesses how they can be effectively mapped to UKG Pro capabilities, configuration and workflows.

- Develops specific recommendations on how established Parks and Recreation business processes and requirements should be implemented within UKG Pro, identifying where requirements may need to be refined or approached differently based on UKG Pro functionality.

- Reviews proposed solution designs and configuration approaches developed by the systems integrator and Technology Services Division to ensure they meet Parks and Recreation’s documented requirements and operational needs.

- Identifies functional gaps, technical dependencies, implementation risks and configuration considerations and recommends options to address them before solution implementation.

- Establishes standards and develops methodologies creating governance frameworks.

- Represents and advocates for Parks and Recreation requirements in discussions with the systems integrator, Technology Services Division, corporate project teams and other technical stakeholders.

- Works closely with Parks and Recreation subject matter experts to understand existing Kronos processes and workflows and provides guidance on how those processes should transition to UKG Pro.

- Provides specialized advice regarding the integration of the Request for Work application with UKG Pro, including data flows, interfaces, dependencies, security, user experience and operational requirements.

- Evaluates UKG Pro's integration capabilities and reviews proposed integration designs to ensure the Request for Work solution effectively supports recreation workers and other employee groups with unique scheduling and system-access requirements.

- Defines and recommends appropriate role-based access, permissions and authorization requirements for different Parks and Recreation employee and management profiles, ensuring users are provided access to the functionality and information required for their roles.

- Reviews UKG Pro security and access designs to identify potential gaps between proposed system configurations and Parks and Recreation's operational requirements.

- Identifies and documents Parks and Recreation's management reporting requirements and evaluates how those requirements can be delivered through UKG Pro standard reports, dashboards or other reporting capabilities.

- Provides recommendations for standardized reporting to support operational management, including absence and leave balances, vacation forecasting, lieu time, attendance-management indicators and other workforce-management information.

- Reviews prototypes, demonstrations, configuration workbooks, solution designs and other implementation deliverables and provides documented recommendations from a Parks and Recreation and UKG Pro perspective.

- Develops and maintains future-state process maps, workflows, integration diagrams, architecture documentation, decision documents and other technical and functional artifacts required to support implementation.

- Participates in solution validation, testing and implementation-readiness activities to confirm that configured functionality aligns with documented requirements and intended business processes.

- Supports the identification and resolution of defects, configuration issues and functional gaps discovered during testing, providing recommendations regarding appropriate UKG Pro solutions.

- Provides advice to the project team regarding UKG Pro implementation practices, product capabilities, limitations and dependencies, enabling informed decisions throughout the implementation.

- Works collaboratively with the existing eScheduling project team, Parks and Recreation subject matter experts, the systems integrator and Technology Services Division to support successful implementation in preparation for the planned Q1 2028 launch.

Key Qualifications

- Extensive and demonstrated hands-on experience implementing and configuring UKG Pro is mandatory, including experience advising on system functionality, configuration, integrations, security and role-based access, workflows, and reporting in a complex organizational environment.

- Considerable experience reviewing and analyzing documented business and functional requirements and translating operational processes and requirements into recommendations for UKG Pro configuration, integration and solution design.

- Considerable experience reviewing and evaluating proposed system configurations and solution designs, identifying functional gaps, dependencies, risks and constraints, and recommending solutions that align system capabilities with business and operational requirements.

- Considerable experience with workforce management, time and attendance, scheduling and related workforce processes. Experience implementing and/or configuring Kronos is a strong asset.

- Strong knowledge of systems integration and interface design, including the ability to analyze and provide recommendations on integration requirements, data flows, interfaces and dependencies between UKG Pro and other applications.

- Familiarity defining and evaluating role-based access, security profiles, user permissions and authorization requirements to meet the needs of diverse employee groups while maintaining appropriate security and privacy controls.

- Ability to identify and evaluate workforce management reporting requirements and solutions, including standard reports, dashboards and other reporting capabilities that support operational and management decision-making.

- Proficiency in preparing clear and comprehensive functional and technical documentation, including process maps, future-state workflows, gap analyses, integration diagrams, solution architecture diagrams, technical recommendations and decision documents.

- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex operational processes, assess technical solutions against documented requirements, identify gaps and risks, and develop practical recommendations.

- Excellent interpersonal, consultation, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for business audiences and provide credible advice to project teams, subject matter experts, senior management, vendors and technical stakeholders.

- Strong stakeholder management, consultation and negotiation skills, with the ability to advocate for business and operational requirements, constructively challenge proposed solutions, resolve competing priorities and build consensus among business and technical stakeholders.

- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project environment and establish collaborative working relationships with business subject matter experts, technical teams, vendors and systems integrators.

- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and manage multiple priorities and deliverables within a large, complex and time-sensitive technology implementation.
