About this role
We Do Consulting Differently
Open to all genders (m/f/d)
About the role
We are seeking Forensic Consultants across all experience levels to join our Düsseldorf-based team. You will support investigations and disputes by combining digital evidence, data analytics and technology-enabled solutions to establish facts and deliver clear, actionable findings.
We welcome junior candidates with relevant internships and a genuine interest in these areas, as well as experienced professionals who can independently deliver workstreams or lead complex engagements.
Your areas of work
Depending on your experience and specialization, you will contribute to one or more of the following areas:
- IT Forensics: Identify, preserve, collect and analyze digital evidence. Examples include creating forensic images of laptops, collecting email and cloud data, recovering deleted files, and analyzing metadata or user activity to reconstruct events, while maintaining evidence integrity and chain-of-custody documentation.
- eDiscovery: Support the management of electronic information from collection and processing through document review and production. Examples include processing and deduplicating email collections, developing keyword searches, configuring review workflows, applying redactions and preparing document productions using platforms such as Relativity, Nuix or comparable solutions.
- Structured Data Analytics: Analyze transactional and business data from SAP and other ERP systems to identify anomalies and support investigations. Examples include examining general-ledger entries, procurement transactions and vendor master data; identifying duplicate payments or unusual journal entries; and reconciling data across systems using tools such as SQL, Python, Alteryx, Power BI or advanced Excel.
- AI Agents and AI Implementation: Develop, implement or evaluate AI-enabled solutions for investigative and analytical workflows. Examples include building assistants that search investigation documents and provide source-linked answers, automating document classification and information extraction, or developing agents that query approved transactional datasets and flag anomalies for human review. Solutions should incorporate appropriate confidentiality safeguards, access controls, accuracy testing and human oversight.
What you bring
Junior / entry-level candidates
- You demonstrate a genuine interest in one or more of the areas above, supported by relevant internships, working-student roles or comparable practical experience.
- For example, you may have assisted with digital-evidence collection, supported a document-review exercise, analysed transactional data or developed an AI prototype during an internship or university project.
- You are keen to develop your technical expertise and learn how to apply it to investigations. Prior independent engagement delivery is not expected.
Experienced consultants
- You bring demonstrable hands-on experience in one or more of the areas above and can independently deliver defined workstreams.
- For example, you may have conducted forensic collections, managed eDiscovery processing, analyzed SAP transactions for potential irregularities or implemented an AI-supported review workflow.
- You can document your methods, validate your results and explain findings clearly to colleagues and clients.
Senior candidates through SMC
- You bring substantial relevant experience and can design approaches, lead engagements, supervise teams and oversee quality.
- For example, you may have defined a digital-evidence collection strategy, led a large-scale eDiscovery engagement, designed a transactional analytics programme or overseen the implementation of an AI solution with appropriate governance.
- You can manage client relationships, budgets and deadlines, and communicate complex findings to legal counsel, management and other stakeholders.
German-language proficiency
Native-level or equivalent fluency in written and spoken German is required—for example, to review German-language business records, discuss findings with clients and legal counsel, and prepare clear reports in German.
Candidates are not expected to have experience in every area or with every named tool. We will assess the breadth and depth of your expertise against the seniority and focus of the role.
