About the Position:
Our mission is simple: End Cyber Risk. We’re looking for a Software Developer 2, to be part of making that happen.
Position Overview and Objective
The Software Developer 2 supports Arctic Wolf’s Engineering organization by helping ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of Aurora Endpoint Security and our cloud-based services. This person partners closely with Engineering and Product teams to drive test automation, improve release confidence, and strengthen engineering productivity through modern quality engineering and AI-assisted development practices.
As a Developer 2, Quality Engineering at Arctic Wolf, you will:
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain a Python-based automation framework that validates product functionality, reliability, and quality across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments
- Develop and grow a Pytest-based test infrastructure as the core of the automation framework, writing clean, reusable, and maintainable Python code
- Build automation for product deployment, upgrade, and validation workflows, using Python as the primary language and Ansible and Terraform to support infrastructure and configuration tasks
- Write Python-based CLI tools and endpoint validation scenarios that extend the framework’s coverage and usability across platforms
- Use AI-powered engineering tools to speed up framework design, automation development, and debugging
- Work closely with engineering, product management, and cross-functional teams to identify quality risks, refine requirements, and ensure the framework delivers comprehensive test coverage throughout the software development life cycle
- Investigate, troubleshoot, document, and track product defects, partnering with teammates to drive timely resolution and root cause analysis
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the automation framework, improving product quality, test coverage, and release confidence over time
What We’re Looking For
- 2-5 years of professional automation development experience, with real framework-building work, not just script writing
- Strong Python skills, with hands-on experience designing automation frameworks, Pytest-based test suites, CLI tools, and endpoint validation scenarios
- Comfort building and running automation across Windows, macOS, and Linux, with an understanding of how platform differences affect framework design
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions that improve product quality, reliability, and engineering efficiency
- Working knowledge of AWS, including EC2 launch types, S3, CloudWatch logs, metrics, and alarms, and IAM roles, policies, and security controls
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services and cloud infrastructure
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools
- Familiarity with Docker-based development and build environments
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to perform effective root cause analysis and drive issues to resolution
Nice to Have
- Ansible for fleet configuration and provisioning
- Exposure to cybersecurity products, distributed systems, or SaaS platforms
- Experience with databases and SQL queries, or Bazel
- Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or AWS or Azure infrastructure
Benefits
All wolves receive compelling compensation and benefits packages, including:
- Equity for all employees
- 18 days annual leave, flexible holidays & festivals, and paid volunteer days
- Training and career development programs
- Comprehensive private benefits plan including medical insurance for you and your family, life insurance (3x compensation), and personal accident insurance.
- A modern workplace in Helios Business Park in Bengaluru
