Summary

As a Researcher, you will turn promising research ideas into production-ready computer vision and machine learning technologies that power products like Seamless Travel. You will be part of a collaborative, largely remote research team across Lisbon and Porto/Gaia, working across the full research lifecycle, from data acquisition and annotation to model training and delivery. Key Responsibilities:

- Build the future of biometrics: Contribute to the applied-research roadmap for face recognition, image quality and anti-spoofing, and help design innovative biometric capture pipelines;
- Cover the full research lifecycle: Work on data acquisition, annotation, deep learning model training, experimentation and delivery of research outcomes;
- Work across tools and environments: Set up and use different machines, ecosystems and infrastructure to keep research moving, rather than focusing on software development alone;
- Solve real-world challenges: Help resolve complex technical issues, deployment challenges and escalated SDK support requests;
- Maintain high standards: Promote best practices for security, governance, quality and software lifecycle management;
- Innovate and grow: Explore novel directions, contribute to patents and publications, and share knowledge with your team;

About The Ideal Candidate:

- 2-3 years of experience in computer vision, gained in industry or a public research institution;
- Strong Python and machine learning skills, with hands-on experience training deep learning models for image-based tasks;
- Versatile and adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity and confident working across different technologies and tools;
- Independent and resilient, with creative problem-solving skills and strong communication;
- Nice to have: software engineering and C# experience; biometrics experience (you will learn on the job, with internal training provided).
