About this role

How can we better understand the use of billions of Apple devices? What problems do our users experience, and how should we prioritize improvements? These are the questions we tackle daily in SWE Data Analytics.

We are looking for an experienced software engineer to drive on-device development of our data collection tools, daemons, and related SPIs and services. The ideal candidate will have experience developing embedded system software with exceptional test coverage.

SWE Data Analytics collects, stores, and analyzes diagnostics and usage data from Apple devices across the world, always keeping user privacy at the forefront. Our data is used to generate insights that inform and drive product strategies across all of software and hardware development. We develop and operate a variety of on device software and scale data products and applications in support of these goals. These systems process multiple petabytes and hundreds of billions of messages per day across many different data types.

We are looking for a software engineer to work on the frameworks, daemons and APIs responsible for data collection across all types of Apple device (iOS, Mac, Watch, TV, Vision, etc).
