We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Consolidation Consultant to join our team. If you come from a strong background in financial consolidation, controlling, or group reporting and want to step into the IT/software consulting world, without needing to write a single line of code, this role is for you.
You will serve as the crucial bridge between business and technology: translating complex statutory, accounting, and regulatory requirements into functional specifications, designing seamless workflows, and collaborating with development partners to deliver robust reporting solutions for leading enterprise clients.
Your Role at Solvership
- Bridge Finance and IT: Act as the functional product lead between corporate finance teams and software developers. Translate complex accounting standards, regulatory mandates, and client reporting needs into clear, actionable functional specifications and user stories.
- Architect Financial Workflows: Design and optimize data workflows within our financial solutions. Drive the evolution of our web reporting portal and XBRL reporting tools, turning decentralized data pipelines into an intuitive, centralized hub for automated data loading, consolidation and reporting
- Lead Enterprise Engagements: Partner with top-tier clients to understand their financial closing, planning, and consolidation processes. Lead requirement-gathering workshops, identify architectural gaps, and define tailored solution designs.
- Work with Leading CPM/EPM Platforms: Configure and oversee solutions built on enterprise-grade platforms, primarily IBM Controller.
- Coordinate Partners & Stakeholders: Collaborate with external development partners and specialized domain experts (such as audit and regulatory advisory partners) to ensure delivery aligns with business rules and statutory reporting frameworks.
- Own Quality and Functional Testing: Formulate test scenarios, execute functional and user acceptance testing (UAT), and validate that data flows and financial calculations perform reliably before rollout.
- Empower Client Teams: Conduct client enablement sessions, train finance and controlling teams, and support them through reporting cycles to maximize adoption and business value.
What We're Looking For
- Strong Financial Domain Foundation: Substantial hands-on experience in financial consolidation, group controlling, corporate accounting, or audit (experience from an audit firm, corporate group accounting, or large shared-service center is ideal).
- The "Bridge" Mindset: A strong business/finance acumen combined with a genuine enthusiasm for software and digital workflows. You do not need coding experience, but you must be comfortable conceptualizing logic, data flows, and system interactions.
- Analytical Translation Skills: Proven ability to break down intricate accounting problems and statutory guidelines into structured, step-by-step logic that software developers can easily build.
- Project Ownership: Ability to take functional ownership of client deliveries and internal product initiatives from scope to testing. Prior team management experience is not required - we are looking for someone who excels at autonomous project-level leadership.
- Familiarity with Financial Systems: Experience working with, implementing, or administering consolidation and reporting tools (hands-on exposure to IBM Cognos Controller, IBM Planning Analytics/TM1, or comparable EPM/CPM platforms is a strong advantage).
- Clear Communication: Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills, comfortable leading discussions with both corporate CFO/controlling teams and technical development partners.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English (written and spoken), with professional working proficiency in Croatian for client-facing engagements.
What Would Be a Plus
- Direct exposure to group reporting structures in large enterprises (retail, distribution, manufacturing, energy).
- Experience with regulatory reporting frameworks (such as ESEF/XBRL standards).
- Conceptual understanding of relational databases, data pipelines, or basic SQL .
Why You’ll Love Solvership
- High-Impact Enterprise Projects: Deliver mission-critical consolidation and reporting systems for industry-defining regional enterprises across retail, energy, automotive, and tech.
- The Best of Both Worlds: Apply deep financial and accounting expertise within a modern, agile tech environment - transforming manual corporate reporting into scalable digital products.

- Autonomy and Flexibility: Enjoy the freedom to work your way with flexible hours, hybrid work options, and an open, non-hierarchical culture where your initiative shapes the solution.
- Comprehensive Perks: Health checks, sponsored team activities, PassSport, language courses, paid time off, employee referral bonuses, and a transparent compensation system.
