Job Overview

As the Head of FP&A, you will play a critical role in helping DelRicht understand where the business is headed and translating that visibility into better decisions.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own and continuously improve the company's financial forecasting, planning, and analytical decision-support capabilities. You will partner closely with executive leadership, clinical site operations, and cross-functional teams to develop forward-looking financial and operational forecasts, evaluate business scenarios, and proactively identify emerging risks and opportunities.

This is a highly visible, hands-on individual contributor role with significant ownership and autonomy. The ideal candidate will combine exceptional financial modeling and analytical capabilities with strong business judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to translate complex information into actionable recommendations. You will be equally comfortable independently building sophisticated financial models, diving into operational datasets, and influencing strategic decisions alongside senior leadership.

Responsibilities

- Own and continuously improve the company's financial forecasting and planning processes, developing forward-looking revenue, expense, profitability, and operational forecasts

- Independently build and maintain complex financial models that translate operational assumptions, business performance, and strategic initiatives into financial projections

- Lead the company's long-range financial planning process, incorporating business assumptions, growth initiatives, and strategic priorities into integrated financial forecasts

- Partner with clinical site and functional leadership across the U.S. to understand operational performance, anticipate emerging risks and opportunities, and identify opportunities to improve financial outcomes

- Develop a deep understanding of the company's operating model and key business drivers, connecting operational performance to financial results

- Build scenario models to evaluate investments, resource allocation, growth opportunities, and other strategic decisions, clearly communicating financial implications and trade-offs

- Analyze actual financial and operational performance against forecasts, budgets, and key performance indicators, identifying underlying drivers of variances and recommending corrective actions

- Conduct in-depth analysis of clinical research data to evaluate study, site, and company performance and identify actionable business insights

- Prepare and present executive-level financial analyses, forecasts, dashboards, and recommendations that inform strategic and operational decisions

- Partner closely with the Data Science & Engineering team to improve financial data quality, reporting, forecasting capabilities, and information products

- Identify opportunities to improve forecast accuracy, automate recurring analyses, and develop scalable financial processes and analytical tools

- Proactively challenge business assumptions, identify financial and operational risks, and communicate recommendations to the CFO and executive leadership team

Experience

- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on quantitative coursework, preferably Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline

- 6+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, strategic finance, investment banking, management consulting, or another highly analytical business environment

- Exceptional financial modeling skills and advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, with demonstrated experience independently building and maintaining complex financial models

- Demonstrated ability to develop financial forecasts, evaluate business assumptions, and translate operational drivers into financial outcomes

- Strong understanding of financial statements, business economics, and the relationship between operational performance and financial results

- Experience analyzing large or complex datasets and translating findings into actionable business recommendations

- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI, automation, and emerging technologies to independently solve problems and improve the quality and efficiency of analytical work

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex financial concepts and influence decisions across technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

- MBA or CPA

- Experience with visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio

- Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other analytical tools

- Experience partnering with Data Science, Data Engineering, or Business Intelligence teams

- Previous clinical research, healthcare, or multi-site operations experience

The Right Candidate Will

- Produce exceptionally accurate, reliable work and demonstrate a high standard of analytical rigor and attention to detail

- Be an exceptional analytical problem-solver who enjoys personally working through complex financial models, datasets, and business challenges

- Be a data-driven storyteller who can synthesize complex information into clear, actionable executive-level insights through structured analysis and effective visualization

- Think beyond reporting what happened to proactively identify what is likely to happen next, why it matters, and what the business should consider doing about it

- Demonstrate strong business judgment and the confidence to constructively challenge assumptions and influence decisions

- Solve ambiguous problems independently, taking initiative and exercising sound judgment without requiring significant direction

- Be intellectually curious and naturally seek to understand the operational drivers behind financial performance

- Take complete ownership of work from inception through completion, maintaining accountability for both the quality and timeliness of deliverables

- Effectively manage multiple competing priorities while consistently meeting tight deadlines

- Adapt quickly and remain effective in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment

- Be self-motivated, energetic, and positive

- Be remarkably, stunningly organized
