About this role
To assist the Projects Department in execution, monitoring, coordination, and commissioning of API manufacturing plant projects, ensuring work is completed as per approved engineering drawings, project schedules, GMP requirements, safety standards, and company procedures.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Project Execution
Assist in execution of API plant expansion and modification projects.
Coordinate day-to-day site activities with contractors and vendors.
Monitor civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and piping work.
Ensure project activities are carried out as per approved drawings and specifications.
Follow up on daily work progress and report delays to the reporting manager.
B. Engineering & Equipment Installation
Assist in installation of reactors, receivers, condensers, pumps, centrifuges, dryers, and other process equipment.
Coordinate equipment shifting, positioning, alignment, and installation.
Monitor fabrication, erection, piping, and utility-related activities.
Assist in checking equipment foundation, piping routes, and equipment layouts.
Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams for technical issues.
C. Utility & Infrastructure Projects
- Assist in execution of utility-related projects such as:
Steam and condensate lines.
Chilled water and cooling water systems.
Compressed air and nitrogen lines.
HVAC systems.
DM/Purified water systems, as applicable.
Solvent storage and transfer systems.
ETP and solvent recovery systems.
D. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily project progress reports.
Update project schedules and work completion records.
Maintain equipment installation and inspection records.
Coordinate preparation and maintenance of as-built drawings.
Maintain project-related documents, work permits, and contractor records.
E. Safety & GMP Compliance
Ensure contractors follow site safety procedures.
Verify work permits before commencement of activities.
Ensure compliance with PPE, work-at-height, hot-work, and confined-space safety requirements.
Follow GMP requirements during project execution in operational areas.
Coordinate with EHS and QA departments for necessary approvals.
F. Commissioning & Handover
Assist in equipment commissioning and trial runs.
Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, QA, and Engineering teams.
Assist in equipment inspection and documentation.
Support qualification activities such as IQ/OQ, wherever applicable.
Ensure proper handover of completed project work to the user department.
3. Educational Qualification
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Diploma / B.E. in Chemical Engineering can also be considered.
4. Experience
1–3 years of experience in project or engineering activities.
Experience in pharmaceutical/API or chemical manufacturing industry preferred.
Freshers with relevant technical knowledge may also be considered.
