The role demands strong theoretical grounding, extensive calculation capability, openness to alternative design approaches, and active involvement in tendering and costing activities.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Design & Engineering

- Design transformer electrical systems including core, windings, and insulation

- Prepare electrical design documentation and calculations

- Ensure performance, reliability, and efficiency targets are met

- Perform design analysis using design software/simulation tools (e.g., SoftTeam / VIT programs or equivalent)

Advanced Calculations & Theoretical Application

- Perform extensive calculations: losses, impedance, efficiency, short-circuit and thermal considerations

- Apply strong theoretical knowledge to validate designs

- Evaluate alternative design approaches for optimization

Tendering & Proposal Engineering

- Support quotation and tendering activities

- Develop preliminary designs for competitive bidding

- Align technical solutions with commercial requirements

Specification Interpretation

- Interpret customer specifications and requirements

- Ensure compliance with IEC, ANSI/IEEE, ISO standards

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with mechanical and control teams

- Work with sales, PMO, manufacturing, and testing teams

Testing & Execution Support

- Support FAT, routine, and type testing

- Resolve design issues during execution

Costing, Optimization & Commercial Awareness

- Contribute to electrical costing for tendering and execution

- Evaluate cost impact of materials, losses, and design choices

- Support cost-performance trade-offs and optimization

- Work with procurement for cost benchmarking

- Provide inputs for budgetary and detailed costing
