Contracts Specialist

This role supports our corporate office in Lexington Park, MD.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

- Administer and manage contracts and related contractual documentation in accordance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.

- Review contractual requirements and provide guidance to internal stakeholders regarding obligations, risks, and compliance requirements.

- Support proposal development, contract negotiations, modifications, and contract award activities.

- Negotiate and execute non-disclosure agreements and other routine contractual agreements.

- Initiate and maintain internal documentation to authorize work, track contract actions, and support project execution.

- Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and government regulations.

- Identify, assess, track, and help mitigate contractual and program risks.

- Serve as a point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders on assigned contracts.

- Support government audits, reviews, and requests for contractual information.

- Assist with contract closeout activities, including intellectual property reporting, government property disposition, and final invoicing coordination.

- Maintain contract records and support data entry and reporting.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve contractual issues and support successful program execution.

Basic Requirements:

- 3–5 years of relative experience as a Contract Specialist or in similar contract management roles

- Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and related agency regulations.

- Understanding of contract types including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), Time and Materials (T&M), and IDIQ contracts.

- Strong ability to read, interpret, and analyze contractual requirements.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with customers and stakeholders at all levels.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound business judgment.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

- Experience with Adobe Acrobat.

Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in a relevant field.
