About this role

Description

Position Overview

The Manager of Venue Sales owns the day-to-day booking business for Lee’s Family Forum, a multipurpose arena with approximately 5,500 fixed seats. This is an active sales and business-development role responsible for generating new demand, converting inquiries and retaining clients across third-party entertainment, sports, corporate and private events.

The manager independently runs the booking pipeline, venue calendar and client relationships from prospecting through contract, operational handoff and rebooking. Working within approved budgets and authority, the manager turns the Senior Director’s strategic direction into a practical sales plan and brings forward recommendations and decisions requiring approval. The Senior Director provides overall strategy, positioning and senior relationship development alongside existing events and food and beverage oversight.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Outbound Sales and Business Development

- Build and execute an outbound sales plan with account priorities, prospecting targets, outreach campaigns and consistent follow-up. Generate qualified opportunities rather than relying solely on incoming inquiries.
- Research and pursue promoters, producers, agents, artist managers, sports organizers, associations, schools and corporate event buyers. Evaluate each account’s event portfolio, audience, typical attendance, routing and repeat potential.
- Own calls, personalized email outreach, professional networking, site visits and proposals. Maintain accurate contacts, next steps and opportunity stages in the CRM and venue booking system.
- Develop referral business with DMCs, convention and visitor organizations, hotel group-sales teams, meeting planners, Henderson business organizations and comparable venues.
- Convert introductions from leadership and Foley properties, including Hotel Californian and private club affiliates, into qualified opportunities; own all subsequent sales follow-through.
- Represent the venue at relevant sales meetings, trade shows and industry events with defined prospecting goals and documented follow-up.

Corporate Business and Creative Programming

- Grow weekday and daytime business through company meetings, sales kickoffs, employee celebrations, private concerts, brand launches, galas, conferences and other appropriate private rentals.
- Create sellable event concepts and packages using approved arena, club, suite and other available spaces. Coordinate pricing and feasibility with operations, production and food and beverage teams.
- Track audience and industry trends to identify commercially viable opportunities in creator-led entertainment, podcasts, gaming, wellness and fitness, cultural programming and emerging sports.
- Bring forward concise proposals supported by audience demand, comparable events, estimated costs and revenue, production requirements and a recommended deal structure. Work with marketing on targeted sales materials, digital listings and campaigns that generate qualified leads.

Calendar and End to End Booking Ownership

- Own venue availability, date holds, challenges, releases and booking records. Coordinate tenant and league schedules, load-in and load-out, conversions and maintenance with the appropriate teams.
- Prioritize available dates and configurations to improve profitable utilization while protecting tenant obligations and avoiding conflicts or unworkable event turnarounds.
- Serve as the primary booking contact for clients. Manage timely inquiry responses, discovery, site visits, estimates, proposals and negotiations within approved parameters.
- Coordinate agreements with legal and finance; track signatures, deposits, insurance, deadlines and contractual requirements. Obtain required approvals before making commitments.
- Provide a complete handoff to event operations with agreed scope, budget, production needs, deliverables and client expectations. Operations lead staffing and event execution; the manager remains accountable for booking commitments and commercial changes.
- Coordinate settlement and final billing with finance and relevant departments. Complete client debriefs, resolve booking issues and secure repeat dates.

Financial Discipline and Reporting

- Prepare event pro formas that capture rental and applicable ancillary income, direct costs, conversions, staffing, production and deal obligations. Assess expected contribution and downside before recommending terms.
- Negotiate rental and other approved deal structures within established pricing, margin and risk limits. Escalate guarantees, co-promotions, material concessions, conflicts and exceptions through the approval process.
- Own the booking forecast and routine pipeline reporting. Track outbound-generated business, qualified opportunities, conversion, booked revenue, event contribution, weekday utilization and repeat bookings against agreed goals.
- Lead a monthly commercial review with recommendations, forecast changes and specific decisions needed. Work with finance on annual booking targets and budget inputs.

What Success Looks Like

A reliable calendar and forecast; a consistent pipeline of self-generated business; growth in profitable corporate, private and third-party bookings; strong repeat and referral business; and complete, timely handoffs that allow leadership to focus on strategy and key relationships.
