Parkshore Juanita Bay is a beautiful new senior living community near Juanita Beach Park and Juanita Village. As part of Parkshore Senior Living and Transforming Age , our dedication to our residents is matched by our passion for creating an exceptional workplace for our team.

Parkshore Juanita Bay is home to active, independent older adults who enjoy staying engaged, learning new things, building friendships, and making the most of every day.

We're looking for a friendly, energetic, and dependable Activities Coordinator who loves working with people and enjoys helping create meaningful and memorable experiences.

Working closely with our Lifestyle Director, you'll help bring our activities calendar to life through social gatherings, games, educational programs, fitness and wellness activities, special events, and resident outings.

This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety. Some days you'll be helping coordinate a guest speaker or social event; other days you might be organizing a game, assisting with a fitness class, helping residents with an activity, or providing transportation for a scheduled outing.

You don't need to be a fitness instructor or have previous senior living experience to be successful in this role. We're looking for someone who is organized, personable, creative, and happy to jump in and help wherever needed.

Our Activities Coordinator:

- Assists the Lifestyle Director with coordinating and carrying out daily activities, social gatherings, educational programs, special events, and resident outings.
- Prepares activity spaces, arranges tables, chairs, supplies, and equipment, and handles cleanup following programs.
- Welcomes residents to activities, encourages participation, and helps create a warm, inclusive, and engaging atmosphere.
- Independently facilitates activities such as games, discussion groups, creative programs, and other small-group gatherings.
- Supports fitness and wellness programs by preparing spaces, setting up equipment, assisting instructors, and helping residents feel comfortable participating.
- May lead basic wellness or small-group movement activities, such as walking or gentle stretching, when appropriately qualified.
- Occasionally transports residents to local appointments, shopping, community outings, and other scheduled destinations using a community vehicle.
- Assists with activity registrations, calendars, event materials, and other administrative tasks.
- Helps maintain organized and welcoming activity, fitness, and common spaces.
- Builds positive relationships with residents, learns their interests, and shares ideas for new programs and activities.
- Works collaboratively with the Lifestyle Director and other team members to deliver an exceptional resident experience.

What You Need to Succeed:

- A warm, outgoing personality and genuine enjoyment of working with older adults.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- A dependable, positive, and hospitality-focused approach.
- Creativity, initiative, and a willingness to be actively involved in community life.
- Comfort leading or facilitating small-group activities and interacting with residents.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the Lifestyle Director.
- Experience in activities, recreation, hospitality, customer service, events, or related work is helpful but not required.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn activity and fitness-related technology.
- Must be at least 21 years of age due to occasional driving responsibilities.
- Current valid driver's license and ability to maintain a safe driving record.
- Willingness to occasionally adjust working hours for special events.
- Successful completion of required background checks, drug screening, and other applicable pre-employment requirements.
- Previous experience in senior living, recreation, or community programming preferred.
- Experience with fitness, wellness, group exercise, or recreational sports preferred.
- CPR/AED certification preferred.
- Experience organizing group outings or special events is a plus.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position that involves standing, walking, bending, reaching, arranging activity spaces, and handling program materials and equipment. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required. The position also includes occasional resident transportation and assistance with community activities and outings. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable law.
