Job Summary:
Leads delivery of the EDU program's data products from definition through release and consumer adoption. A majority-technical role with a program-management skill set: the holder must be able to read and challenge a data model, a semantic definition or a pipeline design, and must also run an integrated plan, a risk register and a steering-group pack to Global PMO standard.
Breaks the program's quarterly milestones into executable releases, convenes domain SMEs and system SMEs per project, and makes sure each product is released with a named owner, named consumers and defined DATSIS. Builds the evidence base (ways of working, intake, standards, council decisions, adoption metrics) on which the operating-model decision will be taken before month 18.
Experience:
- 8+ years in program or technical program management, with at least 3 years leading enterprise data, MDM or data-platform programs.
- Has stood up a data product or data governance program from the start at least once: defined the products, the ownership model, the intake and the release process, and delivered them.
- Demonstrated delivery of large, cross-functional initiatives with hard dependencies on other programs and on IT platform work.
- Experience transitioning or consolidating master and transactional data between systems (for example CRM or ERP migrations, MDM implementations, registry builds).
- Worked directly with data architects and system architects on logical and semantic design, and with data science teams consuming the output.
- Experience driving organizational adoption of new data products or operating models, including readiness and communication planning.
- Track record of setting, measuring and reporting program KPIs under a corporate PMO framework.
- Medical device, life sciences or regulated-industry experience, and exposure to product data and customer data domains, are a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Business or a related discipline; a graduate degree in a quantitative or data discipline is a plus.
- PMP, PgMP, Agile or Scrum certification is a plus.
- Hands-on familiarity with a cloud data platform (Snowflake), an MDM tool (Informatica, CDM) and a governance or catalogue tool (Collibra) is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of the enterprise data lifecycle: transaction layer, master data and identity registries, data integration and pipelines, physical, logical and semantic layers, data catalogues.
- Able to read, build on and challenge a data model, a semantic definition and a dataset; comfortable in SQL against a cloud data platform.
- Understands what makes a data product governed and certified: named ownership, defined consumers, DATSIS, lineage, quality thresholds, release versioning.
- Program discipline to Global PMO standard: integrated planning, dependency management, risk and issue management, KPI definition and reporting, recovery planning.
- Strong facilitation and workshop leadership across business domains and IT; able to drive a decision in a room of VPs with competing priorities.
- Stakeholder management and influence across a complex, multinational matrix without positional authority.
- Strategic thinking: connects each release to the layered architecture and to the enterprise outcomes the program exists for.
- Business and execution mindset: anticipates obstacles, brings proposals, and shifts focus as priorities change.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication for executive and technical audiences.
- Independent self-starter who manages multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Team player who lives CVI's values: Dedicated, Innovative, Friendly, Partner and Does the Right Thing; complies with company policies and procedures.
Work Environment:
- Normal office or remote office environment; extended periods working at a computer.
- Sedentary to light physical effort necessary to perform the job.
- Extensive contact with employees across business domains, IT, regional data and BI leads, and external partners (assessment facilitator, analyst firms, platform vendors).
